Warrior Forge Blacksmith — Local services in Huntsville

THIS WAS THE COOLEST EXPERIENCE. My 6yo and I are hanging out in Huntsville while my other child is at space camp, and I am so grateful to the Facebook group member who suggested this activity! Marc, the owner, was kind enough to use his extra time this afternoon improvising an Enderman backpack charm for my Minecraft-loving son to make. I was incredibly impressed by his ability to design it on the fly AND give a lesson on blacksmithing in an engaging, age-appropriate, fun way. I also made a rune pendant (despite being a fairly competent woodworker, I am, it turns out, very bad with a blacksmith hammer). The lesson in metalsmithing was super fun, but what really made the experience wonderful was Marc's humor, kindness, and warmth. If we return to Huntsville, we will definitely do this again! My husband and I scheduled a trip here after a museum visit in the area. So happy we did! We have both grown up watching a farrier make shoes for our mules but never actually got to "play" and learn how to use the equipment and tools. Marc did an excellent job of teaching the skills along with the correct vocabulary mixed with a bunch of humor! I didn't know we would be getting a comedy show with the experience but it made the event so memorable. My husband made a knife from a horseshoe and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I watched and learned right along with him and wasn't excluded from the experience. If we ever travel back to Alabama from Virginia, we will be making the date night heart! Thankfully he had tshirts for sale since my hubby wanted a cool Alabama shirt to remember...

My son and I were leaving Lowe Mill one night and happened across Warrior Forge and got to meet Marc. He invited my son to come in and make a small pirate sword. He absolutely loved the experience. Marc was so friendly and patient with him, even though he’s a pretty hyper kid. Every time we go back my son has to stick his head in the shop and tell “The blacksmith man” hi.
