Sand Castle III — Local services in Indian Shores

The beach at this location is just amazing. We have been going here for 20+ years and never get tired of it. Seems like the beach here is deeper than further north or south so never gets very crowded. You can walk for miles in either direction. The view from the condo balcony was amazing. We like to have a cocktail and enjoy the Gulf sunsets - the best! Sandcastle 3's building is smaller than Sandcastle 1 or 2 and it is the newest of the three and I think the units are just a little bit bigger than Sandcastle 2. These are individually owned condominums, so each unit is different inside but they all have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, master has a shower, the other bath has a tub/shower, full kitchen, dining and living room and of course the great balcony. 😄 Washer/dryer in the unit. Some have shaded parking (open garage under building) which is nice, and are rented through Plumlee, and they have nice extras like free DVD movies and bikes you can use. Beautiful beach and nicely maintained building. Overall a nice place but.... There is a resident here that seems to enjoy yelling at vacation renters. There were people in the pool past sunset and he screamed at them instead of pointing out the rules and asking them to vacate the area. The unit we rented was 404. We ended up having to spend a few hours inside because the maintenance person showed up twice, UNANNOUNCED, to fix ALL FOUR broken sliding glass doors and a leaky toilet. He also cussed and yelled at the doors the majority of the time he was here. Also, the kitchen appliance handles and cabinet doors and handles were sticky and dirty when we arrived so we didn't check in the first night so it could be cleaned...

The location is very nice. It’s close to restaurants and on the beach front.

However it has the dirties floors imaginable. I seriously threw away my socks because they were black. I mopped the floors myself.

The units have washer and dryers and good kitchens with basic utensils and pans for cooking. Normal sized fridge.

My problem with me not giving 5 stars is simply because the rate the hiked up to when Canadians were allowed to travel back to the US were as much as 4 times the previous rates.
