I have been here few times and yes they have lot sets and things to look through. What I don’t understand is how your going post sign on your front door says “cash is king” and when someone ask what cash price is your smart ass response is $1 less then what sticker says. Then guy continues to say, we don’t need sell these we have so many sets we just put another one out. What? Don’t act like fool be rude. I honestly was wanting see what say maybe $5 off or something was my guess. Well let’s just say I put set down and walked out because they have so many sets they don’t need make a sale according to that employee. Goodluck!
Response to the owner!!
First of all go ahead and post the recording because I never once mentioned anything about a 40% off of anything. Your employees rude smart response was $1. He could have just said oh, we mainly like cash because credit card fees. No reason to tell customer they don’t need to sell anything because we have more we will just put out set, we don’t need sell them. I know you won’t post any video anywhere because will show the truth. I was waiting for your response to see if I would give it another try but I see how you do business...
Read more“It’s a Block Party” is exactly what it says! Hands down the best Lego store in Indiana. The proprietors, Doug and Melissa, are wonderful and travel all over the U.S. to participate in shows. Their exhibits are mind-blowing—the most memorable one to me being a live-action Star Wars diorama with working cranes and assembly line conveyor belts.
This is the crucial point that (at least in my mind) sets their store apart from others—It fuels your imagination! When you buy a Lego set, they’re generally one-off, modular affairs: You unpack them, assemble them, and you’re done. But waking through this store and talking with the owners, you get ideas of how to combine these sets into elaborate and complex dreamscapes and worlds. Whether you’re building holiday-themed villages or reproducing movie scenes, you feel you’re hanging out with kindred spirits in this shop.
My only criticism is that I wish the store were located in a more prominent area of the Southside, like closer to the Greenwood Mall or next to Books-A-Million. That way hobbyists visiting one shop would have the convenience of popping over to the other. But I imagine rent for those areas...
Read moreSadly, I did not have a good experience at "Its A Block Party". I definitely wanted to, but was met with a stone wall (perhaps made of LEGO).
I came in last week and found a LEGO set that I was interested in. This LEGO set, like many of the others, was used. The price for the "The Great Wave" LEGO set was $120 pre-tax.
Of course, I began comparing prices online and found that the same exact LEGO set was $99 brand new on LEGO's website, and roughly $84 shipped and sold by Amazon. Again, these were listings of brand new sets.
I turned around to ask the employee at the front desk if there was an update on the price for the used one in their store. He said, "Nope" and continued to look down at his phone. I retorted with my findings about the listings online, and each time I was met with the same "Nope".
Fair enough. I find it strange that there is no room for bartering at a store that sells used items; especially when their prices are higher than what LEGO sells brand new. I'll continue to search for LEGO products elsewhere. Just...
