Steve created us a beautiful custom engagement ring after we had shopped at numerous stores and could not find anything that we wanted. His customer service was outstanding. We walked in and immediately felt like old friends. After a bit of discussion about how he runs his business and ourselves, we described the ring we wanted to Steve and pulled out the Cubic Zirconia imitation of it that we had been testing out. Steve looked at the ring and said it would be a piece of cake to replicate. We were only in town for a few days around the holidays and Steve went above and beyond for us. After our initial walk-in, he got in touch with his contacts to try and find us the perfect diamond. A couple days later, he had 3 options for us in store to look at. We rushed in and found the perfect center stone. Steve measured everything out perfectly and made a replica of the ring we wanted scaled up to fit the stone we had picked out. We left Steve with the task on 12/4 and he had the ring perfected for us on 12/21 - what a great Christmas gift! Upon picking up the ring, we were both astounded at just how gorgeous it truly is. To this day, we still are in awe of the beauty and great work that Steve did on this piece. We have recommended him multiple times to friends and family already and will most definitely be back for our wedding bands later this year and any jewelry needs in the future.

Additionally, I know that I touched on Steve's great customer service at the beginning of the review, but I would like to re-iterate that out of all of the jewelers we met with, Steve by far had the best customer service. Steve has been my jeweler for the past 10 years. After working with Orofino Jewelers once, I haven’t had any reason to go anywhere else. Our first project together was designing an engagement ring for my wife. I was thrilled with the outcome (so was my wife!), and I have worked with Steve many times over the years as kids have been born and anniversaries have approached.

Steve provides an unmatched level of service. For example, Steve delivered a pair of earrings to us in the hospital after the birth of my first child. During the COVID-19 lock-down, Steve dug deep into his network to find a casting house that was still operating to complete a custom diamond pendant we had designed together as an anniversary gift. He received the casting in the mail on our anniversary, set the stones, and delivered it to my mailbox before the end of the day. I don’t know another jeweler that bends over backwards to deliver for their clients.

I have referred friends, family, even relative strangers to Steve over the years. When I tell them why they want to work with Orofino Jewelers, I use a Boy Scout Popcorn vs Girl Scout Cookies analogy. With Boy Scout popcorn, most people feel they overpay and don’t really want what they’re getting. That’s the big box jewelry stores. Steve Brown is an incredibly genuine, knowledgeable, and intuitive person in the jewelry business. I came to him after very little luck with several jewelry stores around Indianapolis. He won me over very quickly by his honesty and desire to help me find the perfect engagement ring. I sent him 2 ring ideas that I had found and described my girlfriend’s style and he was able to merge those ideas and come up with a ring that ended up being PERFECT for my girlfriend.

On top of being in tune with what I wanted, he was extremely conscious of my budget and timeline. At the time, I had only a few weeks left before I planned to propose; he took that into consideration and communicated with me multiple times along the way about the ring’s progress leading up to the finished engagement ring.

I got a beautiful yellow gold engagement ring from him, which my now fiancé LOVES.
