This is one of my favorite flea markets so I really wasn't going to comment except the attitude is just too much. I've been coming here for YEARS and I've seen all the changes, from expansion, to price increases, to vendor changes and staff changes. They even had a public restroom for years which was super convenient (apparently not anymore, which is fine). Now...sadly, the staff isn't bringing the same positive energy as the previous staff used to. They would speak when you walked in, they smiled & they would help you if you needed it. The current manager, ( lady with the dark hair) isn't pleasant at all. At least the few times I've interacted with her. She never seems interested in helping or answering questions. When she talks to you or rings you up, her tone is condescending and dry. She's always doing something else making it clear she's not interested in what you have to say. It's like you're bothering her if you need help or have a question...very disappointing. Most of the staff is aloof and not helpful. Once, one of them even smelled like Marijuana. No judgement, but when you're coming to work, not a good look. To be honest, it is like a revolving door when it comes to staff. I understand that staff changes happen and things change to better enhance business, but let's not forget a business is only a business because of its customers. All the vendors and expansions are useless without customers choosing to spend their hard earned money there. I do love the items that are sold there though. I have found some gems over the years. I suppose I'll just have to accept that I won't have the same pleasant customer service experience as before whenever I choose to patron this establishment. š It is a nice place to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey have good deals on mattresses but the management is rude as hell to customers. When I bought a king set the rude manager guy made it clear to the employee who said he would help me load them not to help me be the said they won't help customers w mattresses. He mentioned he doesn't have workman's comp insurance and can't afford to have his employees get hurt. So because you won't abide by US labor laws that means you won't let employees help customers. I have a bad back and handicapped but he didn't care when I mentioned this and was quite rude towards me about it. VERY RUDE in fact. I will be contacting the state of Indiana and Better business bureau about the fact they won't abide by state and federal laws concerning workman's comp and not assisting handicapped people.
The worker said he'd help me if I drove around behind the building to load the mattresses. When I did I got a hole in my tire in my new Corvette which wasn't cheap to replace. The drive and area behind the store has shattered glass and debris everywhere which is what punctured my tire (See attached photo). I tried my best to avoid the broken glass etc but ran over something. I might sue them for this $400 tire as well. The tire ended up being more than the mattress set.
People like this who are rude to customers and treat them so poorly should be put out of business. If he's not keeping the place clean and not abiding by labor laws I cant help wonder what other laws this jerk is...
