This is a review on the customer service at Stereo Advantage. I have not actually purchased from them yet, but I believe they earned this review. So, here's my story.
Last summer, my wife and I were about to hit the road in our RV (full time) to travel the states. Our 2014 Forest River had a Magnadyne LCD-4 NAV and All-in-One entertainment deck (5.1 surround). The week before we left this deck started doing some really really bad things. Sounded like it was killing our sub and front/rear/center speakers had no output at all. I was sure the amps were blown. I contacted Stereo Advantage and the gentlemen who runs this shop spent a fair amount of time with me on the phone. He listened to all my rambling about the symptoms, my thoughts on the matter, as well as the specifics regarding my RV. I really didn't expect him to be thrilled about it being an RV job but I was wrong. He was very nice, professional, and had no problem with us bringing an RV to his shop. He set up an appointment for the next day.
I was close by so I jumped in my SUV after hanging up and headed over to shop for an acceptable replacement deck if mine couldn't be fixed. Well, he was the same in person. He gave me detailed info on the decks I liked as well as tips on how they could wire to meet my specific needs. Here is the kicker. The next morning, my wife and I unhooked from our campsite to head to Stereo Advantage for our appointment and the Magnadyne system started working again. Could not believe it!! We went ahead and started testing everything while driving to our appointment; all seemed fine. We pulled up in our RV and apologized to him, letting him know what had happened. We told him we were going to go with it and see if it was just a fluke. Well, 6 months later and it's still working fine...go figure! Anyway, the folks at Stereo Advantage will have our families business from here out when we have car audio needs! Thank you so much...
Read moreLet me start by saying I hate being negative I would love nothing more than to give this business 5 stars but alas I must be honest. I came in to have my car stereo repaired, simple wiring but ended up buying a brand new stereo and paid double the cost to have it installed. I dropped. Vehicle off and was surprised to get a call a couple hours later saying it was finished. I liked this but also worried me a bit. I picked up car after work and they were closed. My navigation system and back up camera, which was working fine before was unresponsive when I started vehicle. This controls a big portion of my car heat, Navi, camera Etc. I called immediately and left a message. I received no response and ended up calling back and the owner was not concerned in the least and said I could bring it by and they could help me with the Bluetooth calling(that was also not working) but as far as my navigation screen there was nothing he could do. Needless to say I was really disturbed by this. I took off work early just to have it looked at and the tech (who was nice but clueless) said I would have to make another appointment to drop it off and he doubted it would fix anything. I just want a working vehicle that is all. I offered to pay to get it fixed right and that the owner seemed disinterested in helping me. Now I am out close to 600$ which is a lot to me. And I cant even turn my a/c on or off. Uggh I guess I will save my money and take it somewhere else that can get the job done I advise anyone who reads this to...
Read moreUpon two different occasions my husband tried to patronize this local business. Each time, we were disappointed. The first time was when we showed up for an appointment to have a radio installed in our truck only to be told that the tech didn't show up. We had received no advanced call nor were we offered another appointment. Months later, we purchased a new vehicle and we decided to give them another try. Why? We were disappointed yet again. The gentlemen came out to inspect the vehicle to see if the work could be done. We picked out one of their the radios and confirmed a time & date for installation. We called the day before to reconfirm. We was told everything was on schedule. We were to have the truck there by 9am and it would be done by 11am the same day. We arrived at 9 and we were told that he couldn't start until later because he had another car from the following night that wasn't completed and that it wouldn't be ready until later that afternoon. He couldn't give us a time. He then said he was going on vacation for a week and a half and to call to reschedule if we couldn't wait. Well we couldn't so we gave our business to the town...
