UPDATE: Dropped another star. It's about common business courtesy to not be crass and no response is a response. So I will keep you posted:
YES I JUST CHANGED THIS FROM A 5 STARS TO 2 STARS. They would have gotten a 0 if it wasn't for the professionalism the employees showed both today and Thursday when I made the purchase. Let me say me say this; anytime you see a sign that says, "NO REFUNDS NO EXCHANGE" You're in the wrong place, (if you are just buying tobacco pipes or accessories you MIGHT be ok). That sign tells me they buy products to sell to us that they aren't willing to stand behind as to take your money and then when its junk point to the sign. We went in their Thursday, my wife and I and bought a new lighter that was pretty, but I didn't buy it to look at. I asked him if these were good and do they last long, his response was, "I will put some butane in and show you ." He lights it real fast. So I bought it. $32.10 for this lighter. So I lay it on my desk and it sits there till last night. I used it 3 times and it quit so I fill it out up with the absolute best butane. It doesn't want to light still so I adjust the flame slowly and stop and try to light it at each stop not working. Then I strike it and I realize that no butane coming out so I tried to put more butane in but it was full. Now I saw the sign but I thought surely they will see the reality of a $30.00 lighter that only struck 3 times, (over $10.00 per strike). So I call and he said "no exceptions' So you just screwed me out of $30.00 and you're good with that. He said I am not authorized to give a refund. I asked who is he says the owner but she isn't here yet. I left my phone number and name and asked her to call me she has not done so as of this writing. So my first suggestion is DON'T GIVE HIGH ON THE HILL or others that have that sign YOUR BUSINESS. If you do DON'T BUY anything mechanical like lighters etc. Or any Scales or Vapes anything like that. A pipe a bowl stuff like that I understand not being able to return them. I almost bought a lighter for $45. It may or may not have worked, but its not just the money. It's a matter of INTEGRITY in business. A business can and does choose what and where they buy. Don't buy inferior products from a distributor who won't back the product so you can exchange it. Maybe you will pay a little more, but then you charge a little more. Most of the time you get what you pay for. But if you think you can rip off customers for $32.10, who in their right mind would spend $45.00 there. So I am going to continue leave this review up until they make it right. I will keep you posted on my blog, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. With a suggestion and a request to be safe and DO NOT SHOP AT HIGH ON THE HILL or anyone else with a no refund or exchange sign that includes Vapes, scales, lighter anything mechanical or battery operated. There are plenty of other stores that do. So for those of you who know me, if they make it right I will let you know that. Let's face it if I used it for a few weeks and it quit that would be one thing but 3 strikes I'm out. Common business courtesy says this is a reason for an exception to do a refund or replacement. Tried to be the best customer I could be, and was very specific that I couldn’t vape menthol, my body is allergic to it. Bought some liquid that was recommended to me by the daughter that didn’t know me(the other daughter and the parents were who I thought I was close to). She assured me it wasn’t menthol. Got home and opened it and it was. Looked up on the website and saw there there was a minor bit of menthol added to that liquid. No big deal, I’m sure they will help me out and fix it. Nope, no exchange or discount knowing I had to buy another bottle. Ok no worries, business is business, but I did stop going there and even though they even had my cell phone number, nobody text me to ask why. I see where I rank, I understand, I was delusional. This is the only shop I’m not embarrassed to go into because they don’t make me feel stupid for asking questions. The staff are always extremely informative and very helpful.
