Old review- no longer good store- see below!!! Run away and will never go there again!!!(Great staff, extremely helpful! Came and brought me a cart when my hands were full... Without me asking! Amazing service and friendliness. Helpful w discounts too.)
updated from 9-4-25---unfortunately had to change star rating to 1 from a 4, due to some kind of management change, attitude change, to a very toxic and rude femal manager in just a year's time. We made an order online for a same day order and a week later we never got the order, had to call and spend 4 hrs talking to customer service to try to resolve the issue with the store.
When we finally arrived the store, after a manager from corporate and myself verifying that the items were on hold. We were met by the blond hair female manager when we came into the store who was dismissive, knew what we were there for, yet walked away and didn't get our items.
My poor dogs were a week without their supplements b/c of this store. We went to front to get on hold items and met a male with greasy dark hair that insisted the items weren't there without looking. Another person was there that did try to locate items while the greasy hair man who called manager who was rolling eyes, complaining that corporate called her at her home, and shaking her head and refusing to help and fill order even though my dogs and son were with me.
No one acknowledged my adorable dogs and the one descent human behind desk confirmed there was no on hold items and the store still didn't have the items we needed. So in all it was a waste as the female and greasy guy yelled at us and screamed that they wouldn't serve us which they weren't doing anyways.
We were 100 % traumatized and appalled at the callous and inhumane and maltreatment of dogs also- behavior. This place needs a revamp or to shut down. Corporate said they were looking into why this store was so poorly run and was the only one in indy area with issues to not fill orders or fix their tech issues. We went to whitestown store and were treated the exact opposite and got what we needed in a very short time with compassionate and nice treatment of us and our pups.
DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE OR DO ONLINE ORDERS unless you want to lose your money, have to talk to customer service for hours, and be verbally and emotionally abused by staff who don't acknowledge or care about animals. Where is the old people that used to work there???? So sad for our neighborhood store.
We had to have help from other customers outside who offered to go in and try to help, but they also weren't helped while I was crying and suffering outside the store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a very unpleasant experience with the grooming service today⦠spoiler alert it didnāt get done. First of all I had made my appointment for 2pm just for me to get there and they tell me to come back at 5pm. 2nd the bather we encounter today needs more training on how to PROPERLY introduce himself towards animals. If you are showing signs of fear no animal will trust you. He went up to our girl already scared for his life, the guy looked scared of my dog from the get go⦠keep in mind the whole time we were being checked in she never barked or showed any signs of aggression towards him. Finally he gets down and āintroduceā himself to her. Like I already said he was showing signs of fear and my dog did the most minimal growl at him( could barely hear it honestly had to get close to her to hear the growl⦠she also was not showing any teeth) after that she got more comfortable since I had to intervene since he was just not doing anything to gain her trust at all. He was just in the corner, later she stared to wag her tail and lick his face and even wanted belly rubs. Which he did not partake. He says heās getting the manager and while the manager walks over to us my dogsā nonchalant about it. The manager proceeds to tell us that they canāt service my dog since she growled at him meanwhile my dog is sniffing the manager and licking her handš. The manager then has the audacity to tell us that,ā maybe with some training she can come backā keep in mind this was going to be her 4th bath with them and sheās been there several times in the self wash stations. I told her that sheās been bathed here before and she says , ā to take her to a public place so she gets used to peopleā correct me if Iām wrong but isnāt PETCO a PUBLIC space? She literally was doing great walking in the store watching people. People were stopping around to see her too and she had no reaction towards them. The manager saw it first hand that my dog didnāt even flinch when she arrived. Honestly they are the ones that need more training on introductions and animal behaviors. So the fact that she said that seeing how my dog acted was very disrespectful, she only growled at him because he doesnāt know how to introduce...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually don't give negative reviews, but my experience this evening was horrible. I have ordered through the app for several years, my large bag of dog food. I put an order in a few hours before I went to the store. I went to the register to check out some dog toys I bought and to check the status of my mobile order. The woman up front asked me my name and asked me if I got an email. When I said I didn't she told me that it not ready then. I was just going to leave because understandably the order wasn't filled yet. But the woman started speaking over the walky talkie asking for my order. The woman on the other end started saying there were two orders with my last name and she needed a first. I then told them my first name and the conversation between the two employees was so tense nd angry. The woman in the back, loudly on the walky talkie started complaining that "she JUST put that order in"... and that I would have to wait to pick it up. I was shocked at how crazy it was for these two to be bickering, when I at no point demanded my order. The woman from the back brought the food up to the counter, slammed it down, and said "I have to see your ID!". I was shocked at the whole exchange. I not at any point demand anything from anyone and was being treated like I was out of line. Petco. PLEASE PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES MORE!!! I am not blaming them for this interaction!! These were two, clearly exhausted, overworked women. This was not an interaction in reaction to what was actually happening, it was the reaction of two people who are working at an obviously...
