Speedway Legacy Inn Events & Suites — Hotel in Speedway

My mother booked Speedway Legacy Inn Events & Suites and paid over $3,000 — and what she got was beyond unacceptable. Here’s what went wrong: • My mom was told we could do the rehearsal when we checked in. Once we arrived, we suddenly got a message from the owner’s wife saying there was an extra charge for rehearsal — something we were never told ahead of time. • The Paris Suite, where my mother was supposed to get ready and spend her wedding night, was absolutely filthy: • Dirty floors and tub • BUGS on the floor and in the bed • Empty wine bottles left behind • No working TV • No air conditioning — the room was uncomfortably hot • While we were decorating, the cleaning lady stood and stared at us the whole time — it was awkward and made us all feel uneasy. • The floors in the banquet room and barn were dirty — we had to ask for brooms and a Swiffer just to clean the place ourselves. • The air conditioning in the barn and banquet room didn’t work. We were told someone was coming — no one ever did. It was so hot we couldn’t even do a first dance or toast. My mom’s wedding cake literally melted. • There was a random man walking around, watching guests and cars like he was security. No one ever told us people actually live on the property, which was unsettling. • The cleaning lady walked out the front door with her kids in the middle of our wedding photos. So unprofessional. • The bar was a joke. The contract stated they would provide water, soda, and juice. They only brought juice. When asked, they said “we don’t bring that.” My mom also requested certain drinks — they only had one of them (beer). • The guest rooms were dirty — toilets weren’t cleaned, floors had bugs, and nothing felt sanitized. • My mom didn’t even use the Paris Suite on her wedding night because it was too hot and had bugs in the bed. • There were race day decorations still up in the lobby when we arrived. They were eventually moved, but it should’ve been ready for a wedding well before we got there. • The owner’s wife tried to say we made 10 changes to the reservation. We only made two minor changes — adding tent rentals and letting her help decorate. • While my mom was getting her hair and makeup done, the owner’s wife tried to charge her card $500 without saying a word. Completely shady behavior. • When my mom asked for a refund, she was told to “call it even.” The owner, Lexi, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I have texts, videos, photos, and witnesses to back up every detail of this review. My mother’s wedding was ruined, and we were constantly interrupted, stressed, and uncomfortable the entire time. Rosie (Manager) is definitely a nice person willing to assist you with all your booking needs BUT… I just don’t believe she is NOT aware of the POOR property amenities/rooms based on what is shown online. These pictures are definitely older than 20 years! My father went and looked (and partly our fault), as he wanted us to stay 5 mins from him… we had the Brickyard room as I had my grandkids with me (larger room). There are two workers who live on the premises that look very suspect, trying to get you to buy stuff from them that they made. We could smell marijuana coming from their room. In our room one of the door locks was broken (kids put table next to door at night), bathroom door does NOT lock, one window pane broken out (windows so old they have the little panes), someone painted (years ago) and walked all over floor and tracks of white paint on floor…. Floor so old when one person moves, everyone looks! Beds are so antiquated and squeaks at every move also! One bed is completely sunk in (mattress) The blankets were something to be desired! The railings to go upstairs are very loose! This room should NOT even be considered for use at all!!! Oh and the WORST part… medication was missing from our room!!!! So PLEASE lock/secure any and all items. (Workers have keys to enter). And before you ask, I had a conversation with Rosie and the OWNER regarding all these concerns! The place would be a very nice place if it was clean and had air. July 5, I help my sister decorate and coordinate a wedding as we were decorating we had to clean dead bugs and mop the floor. It was very hot and had no air. It was someone staying there that was supposed to be the maid and her and her children were walking through the wedding The bride had stated she paid for the whole event hall but only had access to the whole building at a certain time. The bridesmaids where supposed to be place in the garage but it was hot the air was not working, the husband of the event planner said someone was coming out to fix the air but they never showed up. They said we suppose to have free water and soda and juice to drink but the bartenders were selling everything, the bartenders also had no clue of what was suppose to be done because the owner had find them on Facebook the day of the wedding and hire them. The whole time that we complaining the owner was listening on the camera but never tried to rectify what was going on with us complaining. Even with telling the husband that the brides were walking out the garage and that he needed to be clean he ignored us and we had to clean it also. The bride and husband were so upset also the guess and bridesmaid that they left early because of it being no air. I hate to give bad review’s especially on my own kind but this experience was ridiculous and they need all of there money back I will never recommend anyone...
