Colonial Jewelry & Pawn — Local services in Inverness

Ok, trust me. I would love to do a great review of this place, but I can't. Here's why. First, I define a pawn shop as "a place that buys almost anything from you." or "Pawn Stars". now this place is more like a "we buy your junk, nothing valuable (unless it's guns or currency), store". now why do I say this? well, I walk in. To the left is some jewelry and currency in the glass casing, while there are just guns on the wall. now I go up to the counter with my Bell & Howell 461A Super 8 Autoload Projector which is at least $200. and immediately, they are like, "No sorry we don't take that". In my mind, I'm thinking, "It's a pawn shop. They should be able to buy it". as I walk out, I see some old electronics like a Nintendo 3DS and an old Apple laptop from 2006. and they they had some old monitors so I thought I would come back with an old monitor I had. So I came back with my monitor, and this lady outside said, "ya, we don't take any electronics over 2 years old". and this kind of makes me pissed. I'm thinking to myself while walking back to my car, "I didn't even walk into the store and they won't take my monitor?! well, that just stinks. they had old electronics and junk in there. now, I can't end badly. so, a person from a different store recommended "Dudley's Auction. about 5-8 miles south from this "pawn shop". After walking in and looking at the giant gear molds they have for factories a very nice lady introduced herself and I asked if they purchase anything from people. they looked at my monitor and she said "How much?" I asked if $20 was okay(I got the monitor for 12) and she was like "Deal" I walked out with a smile. moral of the story, If you walk into a pawn shop with new used hardware, leave and run. bad service, and...

I have been to Colonial Pawn and Jewelry for many years and trust them for honesty and fair prices. Al does the jewelry repairs and any other requests that you may need and is a miracle worker with jewelry!! He is the absolute best!! Andy, Stacy and the entire staff are incredible, I truly cannot say enough! I have since moved to Tennessee and had to have a repair done on my wedding ring and took it to a jewelry in Tennessee and they cracked my ring! Distraught... I called Al frantically and he said I can fix it, so my husband and I came from Tennessee to have Al fix my ring ... OMG, Al went above and beyond putting me first to fix my ring and it came out beautiful.. words cannot say how happy I am! Thank you truly and truly Al for helping me! Andy and Stacy, thank you truly for all of your help with the repair, you all are such wonderful people who take care of their customers and it shows! I just cannot say enough thank you's for what you did for me. If I have any other repairs I will be coming back to Florida to have them fixed. I bought a brand new wedding band from Kay jeweler's never been worn wedding band this past Christmas decided not to get married. It’s been in the box ever since it did not have a blemish on it anywhere I picked my stuff up today and that is not the ring that I pawned, it has blemishes all over it, they switched it with another one they had at the store I’m sure but I can’t prove anything with these people. I suggest you go over with them well on an item you want to Pawn I gladly paid your interest and you ripped me off if there was anyway I could prove it I would take you to court, but that’s what happens when you deal with an unreliable pawnshop, I know damn well you didn’t give me the ring I pawned and if you have any sense, do not ever go into this place, they used an address I had over 12 years ago. I gave them my drivers license. You would think they would have sense enough to use my current address, but I guess that’s how they cover their ass. Just a typical scumbag.not honest pawn shop…I beg you don’t go...
