One of if not the best video game store I've ever been to. The owner is very nice and works with the customer. The layout is very functional for the customer to shop around. All the products are clean and wrapped like new. Very organized and full of gems. As a video game collector and reseller it's hard to impress me as most video game stores generally have the same stuff. But Software Seconds is full extremely interesting items. With that said Software Seconds has been in business for over 25 years so he's built an abundance of kiosk machines, and great signage. The owner actually sold me two extremely great signs while I was there and gave me very good prices. For anyone within a decent range of this store I highly recommend. Being at this store really boosted my morale as I was out of town for work. With that said my photos are from my hotel room. The retro and previous gen consoles are well put together, and with everything included you need to make it a gift or a setup for yourself to play at home. The games(handheld included) are in wonderful condition, are organized and displayed very well, and reasonably priced. If I can't find something one day, I come back a little later, and there's hidden gems here. The guy who works here is knowledgeable, understanding, and very helpful. I'm going to be very sad to move soon. This is one of the few biggest spots in the area for great games, consoles, and parts. I've gotten a gcn set, old gcn+wii games I grew up with and lost with time, a pokemon yellow with new battery, pokemon gameboys of two generations, gba games. My bf has even gotten plenty of parts to accommodate for our old consoles/ newer TV models, which work well with the gcn sold here. Software Seconds is the best retro gaming dedicated shop in Columbia, SC if not the southeastern U.S. at large! The owner is immensely personable, fair, backs his products to the hilt, and has an absolutely incredible shop. He has stuff in his shop that made me drool as a kid born in '77, and frankly still makes me smile today. Please support this amazing local business. We have purchased Wii games and accessories, a PS2 and a ton of games, and I've plans for a Sega Game Gear and other systems in the future.
