I have never in my life been treated so poorly by a business owner. I am 100% in support of small businesses and will go out of my way to give them my time & money so this shocked me and I am leaving this review in hopes to keep it from happening to at least one other person. We are new in town and because of the good reviews, I ordered my moms birthday cake from this bakery. First opinion, I was not super impressed with the overall appearance and customer service but my mom really wanted this specific cake so I let that go. After blowing out the candles and cutting it, we realized we received an entirely different cake than the one she requested and we ordered. I immediately called and the owner answered. I explained the situation was told âthe flavor was addedâ and was brushed off. I offered to bring the cake in to show her that it was just a plain yellow cake rather than key lime and she said she was busy making another cake also they were closing in an hour so not to bother. Because she didnât have the time for me, she requested my phone number to return my call and process my refund. I agreed because at this point, her birthday was almost over and I just wanted our money back. I was also tired of arguing and being told I was completely wrong about the cake and being spoken down to for something that was not my fault. Days later, nothing. Decided to just go in person and explain the situation once more and was berated for not bringing in the cake... and at this point she refused a refund. We went back and forth and finally she offered the refund again, but it turns out that she was âout of cashâ and her card machine was broken. At this point I just wanted this to be done and over because it was rather upsetting. I came back a few days later as my last attempt and once again was refused a full refund. I remained calm and respectful and she actually laughed in my face saying once again that I was wrong.. which just showed how little she actually cared about my opinion or my moms feelings on what was her 50th. Itâs just a cake but we deserved validation and at least respect. I have never felt so belittled or talked down to in a store. I remember telling her she shouldnât care just about losing my business because I know there are plenty of other customers, she should care that as a human being it is just unacceptable to make someone feel so small! I was eventually thrown a partial cash refund and left feeling shocked and hurt from the interaction.
Overall, the owner is EXTREMELY defensive and refuses to apologize for her errors. She laughs customers in the face and I honestly hope no one has to leave...
Read moreThe most unprofessional business I have ever came across. Only choose this bakery if youâre willing to risk wasting your money and ruining your special event. The owner is, quite frankly, the most unprofessional and unethical business owner Iâve had interactions with.
I reached out to Tres Leches to place an order of a custom-made cake for my partnerâs birthday surprise. After over a week of back and forth and having to wait days for a response, I called and was finally able to finalize the order. A picture of the desired design was provided and payment made via PayPal. On the day of the scheduled delivery (after no response to say whether the payment made 2 days before was received, I decided to call to confirm earlier in the day. After 2 missed calls, I was able to finally speak with someone who claimed that she was unaware of any such order and will let the owner return a call, since I spoke to her previously). I was finally able to get a fb messenger response from the owner who confirmed that the order will be ready for the afternoon.
In addition to paying $45 for a 6 inches cake and $22 for delivery, I also paid for a candle to be included which increased the amount by $3.95 - a total payment of $70.95. When the order was delivered, it looked nothing like the picture that was sent (infact, it was a completely different cake). In addition, no candle was included despite being paid for.
Soon after receiving the cake, I reached out to the owner who said that they do not provide refunds. A dispute was then opened via PayPal, after which she reached out to say I can return the cake and she will provide the refund. The very next day, the cake was returned untouched.
After ignoring my messages for 3 days following the return, she responded to say that she lost money on the cake and will not be âwasting her good vibes on me.â
I have no idea how this business has been in operation for so long if this is the way customers are being scammed and treated, without any remorse or apology whatsoever; much less a refund. If youâre looking for a good bakery, look elsewhere.
Ps. They do not even deserve a...
Read moreI've been this bakery for breakfast and the chorizo con papas in a tortilla was great. The staff in nice. I also had my baby shower cake and cupcakes made here. They were amazing. The best part of this bakery is the sense of family. Deb made my cakes and when I came to visit for thr first time she gave me a hug and welcomed me in. When my cake was picked up by my bestie for the shower my bestie said she for the same warm welcome. On the way home from the bakery my cake was destroyed. We went into panic mode a little bit. But I called Deb and let her know what happened. She said it was ok and to just bring it in. 30 minutes later, I was in tears of joy. My cake was rebuilt and looking better than ever. On top of that she also gave us the destroyed cake to enjoy at home. The she offered to deliver the cake to venue to make sure it got there in one piece. It did. When she came she also gave me a shower gift. Did I mention all this was done for us when the bakery was supposed to be closed. This bakery has gone above and beyond anyone's expectations of any business. They have simple kindness efficiency and an amazing product. I definitely recommend Tres Leches to not just anyone but everyone. They have m...
