I've been with BLA coaches for over 4 years now. I've followed them around to a couple different facilities and I am really glad that they landed at the Primal facility as it really has everything you could ever need. The coaches are great and are helping me to improve my performance. The mix of personalities really creates a warm and welcoming environment.
What I really appreciate about BLA is that the workouts are intense but you don't have to make them that way. As I get older, I can definitely feel myself slowing down and I don't see myself pushing as hard for PR's because: 1) the injury risk is high; 2) the recovery, should I get injured, is much longer. So it's nice to know that the coaches totally get it when you don't push yourself to the limit. I really like when I say, "hey, my lower back is really sore, I don't think I should do deadlifts" they will come back with an alternative work out right away. So it's not an intimidating atmosphere at all.
The members tend to be mid to late 30s to 50s. So the emphasis is more so on smart strength and conditioning as opposed to just WODing constantly. Come here and make some new friends. 5:15 AM is the best class...
Read moreThis gym is amazing. With any sport it has a lot to do with the coaches and environment. Not only do you have the best teachers at BLA, you have a top notch facility, and amazing people to workout with. This gym is for every level...when I started out at this gym I was very out of shape and recovering from a knee surgery. I am a former D1 athlete and it was frustrating not being able to do what others could do at the gym. However, the coaches modified and scaled workouts for me, they worked with my mobility, strength. I have now lost 25lbs and getting in better shape everyday. Jeff, Chelsea, and Corey have great knowladge of strength and conditioning, mobility, nutrition...they are the best around (just trust me on that). The community is of all ages and ability and is very encouraging and just all around fun. Like anything in life you must be consistent and this gym makes you want to show up everyday!

Quality coaching and knowledge, passion & energy is what separates these three & the gym from the rest. I love that all of the gym equipment is top of the line and clean. One of my favorite parts of BLA is the sense of team & community. Being an ex-athlete I felt lost for years trying to find the right fit/balance/accountability in my workouts.
