Maison De Croissant — Restaurant in Irvine

The owner is so spunky and knowledgeable!!!! She's so cute. She sells croissants, bread, macaroons, drinks, coffee and special drinks. The specialty is the croffle (croissant and waffle combination) made in-house: you must try!!! It's located inside H-Mart in the Diamond Jamboree plaza. Parking is a little difficult, but the croffles are worth it (plus: H Mart has awesome Korean food to shop for and buy!) Pricing is on point, but for me, the cherry on the top was the owner. The owner is very friendly and charming to talk to! Plus the croffles are delicious! Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Just the right balance of sweetness, especially for the strawberry croffle and the blueberry croffle (the cream on the blueberry croffle was mixed with blueberries I think). I've always wondered what a true croffle tastes like after a few disappointing attempts at other places, and this place finally gave me a taste of a true croffle (literally). I will have to get the other flavors next time....

Based on the name, I was expecting a French pastry shop, but it's a little almost pop up looking place inside of an Asian grocery store. It's basically just a waffle with some flavored whipped cream on top and some fruit or flavored syrup, definitely underwhelming, especially for anyone who has tasted real French pastry.
