Wild Goose Escape Rooms - Irvine — Attraction in Irvine

Last week, my family including my 12 year old nephew teamed up to solve 'Elevate : Skylounge' in Irvine from WildGoose Escapes. Our shared opinion is that the moderate (3/5) difficulty rating is accurate. Even so, it took us 58 of allotted 60 minutes to fully complete the challenge and escape both the anteroom (the elevator) and the main room (the Skylounge). The elevator and lounge is a fun setting for the escape but the game is overall slightly lacking in story and main (NPC) character development. All puzzles worked well with just one or two that required random pairing of items to solve the puzzles (in my opinion). Of the dozen or so puzzles that need to be solved to escape the Skylounge, at least ten were fair and logical. We had Duc as our MC and he was professional both in the brief pre-game instruction period as well as through hints and 'nudges' during the game (we required one of each when we were stuck). All puzzles were set up correctly and operated as designed. Duc was helpful throughout and his input did allow us to make one jump in problem solving late in the game that is necessary to achieve the complete solution to the escape room. Careful observers and clever problem solvers should be able to escape the room in under 60 minutes with either no or one or two hints. We had a good experience and felt that the Skylounge stacked up well against the two other escape room experiences we have had--perhaps the best so far in the medium...

We were running a bit late but Camille, our game host, was awesome and assured us we were still good to go (thank goodness that this place allots enough time between each session)!

When we started the room, we had no expectations but immediately we all were impressed at how well themed it was. Not only was the story well put together but the tasks all made sense, unlike escape rooms that just give puzzles that don't really add to the theme and are just there to give you another code. We also only had a team of three and felt the room had a perfect amount of puzzles and space to feel like we all contributed. PLUS - the music that played was such a vibe - honestly it was so much fun!

When we showed back up at the escape room + a friend to do the elevator one, because last time he promised it was as big as S.A.S.H.A and that if I did actually get claustrophobic in it, there was an emergency button that would let me go out without having to wait for a person or solving the puzzle to let me out
