Just horrible. I’ve never been to an event so poorly managed in my life. I’m truly disappointed in the city of Irvine.
The management of entry into the park was bad. The gates didn’t open until 30 minutes past the opening time. The security people were extremely rude, especially this lady that walked around and telling people to open their bags even though they haven’t even gotten in line yet. The ONE and only sign of what kind of bags and dimensions was placed right at the entrance door, hidden by all the other guests in line. The metal detector was not even working.
The food selection was bad and limited. There’s a reason why they don’t list the vendors on the website, because there are only a handful! All the vendors are extremely overpriced. There was Chikfila (~$15 for a chicken sandwich), a Caribbean food truck (the food was bad), Roll-it ice cream, Afters ice cream, a boba vendor, two burgers stalls by the venue, and some drinks stalls by the venue.
The burger by the venue was the worst burger I ever had. Not only did it take them 30 minutes to make, the buns were burnt, the patty was extremely dry and tasteless - I was eating a $13 cardboard.
Other than Afters ice cream, everything about this venue was...
Read moreTHE LIVE/FOOD EVENTS ARE NOT FREE ANYMORE. I know the park needs to make money to pay off its venues and construction of new amenities but PLEASE make it clear on your instagram about the bag rules, the no refund ticket rules, and the water bottle rules. My family came in during an event, had to turn back to our car to put away our water bottles (no metal water bottles allowed) and then AGAIN because I guess my bag was too big. Staff should make the rules about bag size/metal water bottle CLEAR on instagram and the website and to guests as they come in, the fact that we had to turn around TWICE bc staff did not explain the rules entirely to us was a joke. EDIT: Giving one more star because they just added the bag rule as of 4hrs ago)
We never had this issue last year, everything was free to enter. Pick an event, either have a live show or have a night market. Not interested in the live shows, just wanted the food. Will not be coming to this event until they...
Read moreI Had a blast at Irvine Nights this summer! We Went to a few different shows, my favorite was Queen Nation! The venue is super family friendly with lots to do for the kids. Bring a blanket to relax on the grass or get there early to secure a table. If you like being closer to the stage you can buy a ticket for a seat. They have VIP cabanas that come with your own VIP server with free non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. Loved seeing the Pacific Symphony for Star Wars night. The stage is beautiful and the sound is great! Lots of good choices to drink and eat. I love the GPL Blonde beer made exclusively for Great Park Live by brewery X. The cheeseburger was fresh and tasted so delicious. The pizza truck is my favorite for the food trucks. My kids love the fresh lemonade stand with the popcorn. I am excited for the next show I can attend...
