Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church — Local services in Irvington

Godly people don’t pessimist , Especially when your allowing a facility to operate on the same premises as a church . I am a photographer who was working with a school based in the basement of this church . Sadly , I encountered a person who identifies himself as a pastor . I was loading my equipment into my vehicle when just as I went to back out of the space near the daycare a man with a pastor uniform on comes to tell me “you can’t park here “ real aggressively. Before I can speak he insisted I was parking when I’m trying to tell him , I’m Literally backing out and the reason I was there was to load my stuff in my car . He completely ignored me and tried to argue with me . As a pastor “a person of God “ you should never treat someone like that over a parking area . Nobody was parking there . My car had been parked on the street the entire time until it was time to load my equipment into my vehicle. Shame on this Church ! And it’s pastor ! Disgusting encounter that was uncalled for . So the humiliation continues when he literally follows my car until I’m nearly backed up enough for him to shut the gate . So pessimistic, but you’re a pastor ? I’d never want to be near him ever again ....

My family and I were driving around looking for a Catholic church when we came upon Sacred Heart. We decided we would go there for Palm Sunday service, but, on a Saturday. A passerby had to tell us where to enter since it wasn't at the main entrance. When we got inside it was a bit cold since the AC was blasting. Once we went up the stairs, we saw a giant crucifix then were greeted by the lovely image of Our Lady of Czestochowa (The Black Virgin), patron Saint of Poland. There were very few people attending service and they were all seniors. They seemed happy to see new faces at the church and were very friendly and welcoming. Great service. I would like to attend another service there and stay longer to take pictures of that...
