To the owners of this establishment:
I have spoken to the folks not only in your deli, but also at the front end regarding your employees with facial hair NOT wearing beard guards. This isn’t just my preference or any a good idea. This is a requirement of ServSafe, the organization who establishes guidelines and administers training and monitors compliance to state and federal regulations.
Your managers undergo extensive training in this regard. They are required to have certifications as food service managers, and all of the personnel they supervise are subject to adherence to these requirements. Beard guards are a requirement, not a suggestion, not an option; and frankly I can’t imagine any customer wanting their food sliced by someone with hair on their face with the possibility of beard hair falling into their food.
Recently I visited the new Wawa in Robesonia and all of the employees with facial hair serving food wear beard guards. What does Wawa know that you folks don’t?
The next time I am in any of your stores and witness someone with facial hair in the deli not wearing a beard guard I am reporting you directly to the Department of Health in Harrisburg.
You have my name and number. Once you address this issue and assure me it is corrected I will take this review down.
Govern yourselves...
Read moreAs always, I go 3 times to a place to leave the most accurate review. With this being my 3rd visit, Dutch-Way restaurant and Market in Myerstown is phenomenal. This place exceeded all of my expectations and more. I ate lunch and dinner here at the buffet. Granted, its not as large as you would expect a place like Shady Maple to be, but the buffet options they have outweigh the quantity with quality. All meats are delicious, moist, tender, and cooked well every time I had them. Sides like bread filling, baked corn, sweet potatoes, soups, pastas, all cooked well and flavorful. Equally as important were the staff. Everyone I spoke with and interacted with were very hospitable and welcoming. I live an hour away and its well worth a date night out with the wife. Bring your household as well, its a very family friendly atmosphere. And definitely make your way over to the Market for some Amish inspired foods. It's almost like going to Boyers or Giant, just with a family owned feel to it. The hot counter at the front is great for lunch to go options, or like me, a soft pretzel after dinner LoL. Can't wait to come back and try breakfast, I heard its great too. Will update after doing so. Management, keep doing great please. We love...

With employees ready to serve you no waiting for someone to be summoned to serve you the meats are a cut above the rest and blow out stores like Weis Markets on price (Homemade Sausage) is made in store and many unique variety’s Philly Cheesesteak is the best. Then you come to the Deli which carries a wide variety of meat and cheeses and at prices $2 to $3 a lbs cheaper then Giant, Weis, Redner’s must try the homemade baked oatmeal,Pot Pie and soups I stopped driving to Shady Maple to shop the perimeter depts till I realized I could get the same superior product in my...
