The food may be good most of the time but the people are not all good people. They judge by looks, my daughter was always stared at and treated different by others there. My daughter just lost her job there this morning because she is so sick that she only slept an hour. It's only her second time calling off. They would rather her drive unsafely to work and then be coughing and spreading covid like symptoms to the customers and other employees. She was told regardless of how she felt if she didn't come in she would be terminated. I mean the tiny amount of money they pay is ridiculous anyway so this is probably a blessing in disguise. At least she won't be judged and talked down to anymore. She gets fired for being sick when the owners son constantly ditches his shifts and puts more work on other people. Hope those of you eating there don't mind getting sick because evidently people have to work when they are sick or they will be terminated. Sounds great for this little family restaurant. Writing this as a mother of a sick and now upset employee that was terminated for being sick. They have a points system that they don't even follow. This place has definitely lost my business. Read moreI'd like to preface this review by mentioning that we arrived at a very busy time, however, the restaurant emptied out pretty quickly.
Food: Very good! The portions are large, the prices are good. I ordered Eggs Benedict with a side of Scrapple, and both were very generous and tasty. Less one star for not being hot when it came out.
Service: This is not a critique on our waitress, but rather the business itself. There is not enough staff to cater to the amount of patrons this business receives. During our time (nearly 2 hours) I saw approximately 5 waitresses. It took over an hour to receive our food, another 20 minutes after we finished to get boxes, and another 10 minutes to get our check. 2 hours is far too long. Either staff needs to be increased, or seating needs to be limited during busy hours so the wait staff isn't overwhelmed.
Atmosphere: Bright and Cozy! Nice decor, plenty to look at!
Overall it would've been a decent experience if not for the aforementioned issues. If they were to improve the flow of their customer experience things would be...
Read moreI can't believe I've lived in this area for seven years and this was my first visit!
We were seated promptly and the service was very good. Since this is the Thanksgiving season I opted for the pumpkin bread French toast. It not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Why isn't it pumpkin season year-round, I ask rhetorically? My accomplice, the inimitable Justin Q Public opted for the asparagus omelette with a side of scrapple and said it was very good.
Overall the facility was extremely clean, which to me is indicative of pride of ownership. After all, who wants to go eat at place where the food is good but the facility looks dirty? Not me!
It seems the Country Fare can accommodate larger groups but I'd recommend calling them first. I do know that state Rep. Russ Diamond hosts public meetings there so I'm sure he wouldn't stake his reputation on a restaurant not up to par.
Good food, reasonably priced and with ample parking. Two thumbs up!!...
