I write to you today to share with you an incident that
happened to me and my sister, Yvette (A loyal customer of the Ralph Lauren Brand since 1978) during our visit to the Ralph Lauren Store, located in Jackson, New Jersey, Wednesday, July 5, 2013 at approximately 5:00 pm.
My sister was in the fitting room.Ā She realized that she was in need of customer assistance for the proper size to a pair of pants that she planned to match with a top and a pair of shorts.
After stepping outside of he fitting room, she asked Dillon for help.
After waiting for well over 17 minutes, we both grew at a loss over the long wait and sought assistance from two store associates who seemed at a loss over who assisted us.
And to add insult to injury, requested again for assistance, and asked to speak with a manager for supportanf an end to the service received thus far.
We were advised that the associates name is Dillon, and he was now working with a customer, and the manager was made awareĀ of our plea for intervention to address the problem and hopefully smooth things out.
Needless to say, Dillon never returned,Ā and the new associate offered a scrap piece of paper with what we believe to be a product number?
Our experience was aggregiously shocking, unpleasant, nor were we treated as valued customers.
Reluctantly, we shopped along a bit more before the rhought occurred to share my experience with an employee who had greeted me earlier, in the hopes of getting help on merchandise selections and a leg up on the unfortunate interactions thus far.
Regrettably, this time let to nothing more than a standard apology.Ā I thanked him and suggested that we simply take our leave.
At that point, a woman appeared to ask how we were. I replied back in kind, and added sadly that we were not enjoying our visit... To which she replied, "Oh, I just got here." I simply smiled and wished her a good shift and moved to take our leave. Perhaps I asked her name, and she replied Angela?
In closing, we did not receive an open and welcoming experience at this particular boutique.
And, barring qprse caseĀ scenarios, such an experience is unacceptable, unawarranted and simply not very right, and all the worse for the poor manner in which the manager failed to promote the mission of the RL brand of serviceĀ - when he failed to meet the needs of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs with other reviews posted about this particular store, this store has a problem with racial profiling. My wife primarily buys Polo Ralph Lauren clothing for our kids. While shopping there, she asked for help with finding another size of the shoes she wanted. They claimed not to have any. The employee Don__ followed her around the store, and kept asking to take the baby shoes she was trying on our baby, to the front. Apparently youāre not allowed to walk around the store in shoes you plan on buying??? What did she think, that my 1.5 yr old was gonna run out the store without paying? Absolutely ludicrous. When she arrived at the register, the employee working the register couldnāt figure out how to work the computer to find other sizes of the same shoe. Seemed fishy. Interestingly enoug, while she was paying, they brought my wife a box to put the shoes in, and started restocking the store with other sizes of the same shoe. Either theyāre not well trained, have an attitude problem, or theyāre racists. Based off other reviews over here, it seems to be the latter. Point is, unless youāre a WASP, donāt bother...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience today at the kids polo store was very unsettling. The 1 star goes to only the male cashier and black floor associate who was extremely patient and helpful towards my fiancĆ© and I. Not much could be said for Jill. Honestly I felt watched and stalked. It gave me an unsettling feeling as if I was being profiled because I (we) were black. My fiancĆ© said the same feeling came over him when she constantly approached him as well. We came in the store to buy outfits for our boys (our favorite brand to put our kids in) and I felt as if she followed us everywhere in the store. Initially I took the conversation as she just going over the discounts but as we separated and got back together in the store there Jill was watching us. There were other families to help. I didnāt like that at all. I didnāt even know my fiancĆ© felt the same until he mentioned it on our ride home. I will not be returning to...
