Ridgecrest Cellars — Local services in Jackson

Had a couple of meetings in the area with some friends and clients, and decided to stop in here last Friday: worst mistake ever. The women working at the counter and the young lady doing a liquor sampling (she probably didn't work there since she was a POC) were friendly and helpful, but the owner (older man) was clearly racist. I witnessed him speak to other patrons in the establishment and skipped right over me and the look on his face said it all. When I had a conversation with another POC outside, they confirmed he was racist and never speaks to them either although they come in from work every Friday to support. I don't get why the people still support him: maybe ignorance? If I could give 0 stars I would because people like him shouldn't own a business and I spend easily $500-$600 or more in each transaction in a spirits store. The only thing I did buy was a bottle of the tequila the young lady was selling and it was absolutely delicious, but I will be telling all of my friends and business associates to make sure they purchase...

My (now) wife and I were in town for the night while driving from Dallas to Cleveland with our infant daughter. After a rough day on the road and finally finding a hotel room, I was hoping to find a nearby place to get a bottle of wine. I called to check in on the application I put in this morning, and the lady who picked up hung up immediately the second I started talking in my native accent (I’m Scottish), I had to call a second time using an American accent and she did tell me about it, but I’m assuming she heard my mother in the background because she said, “oh god another one, sorry we’re not accepting your application”...
