Food Lion — Local services in Jacksonville

If you don't shop here with MVP, you aren't local. Do yourself a favor and set up shop and earn too. Great prices, amazing people. I used to work here. Hated it but I loved my crew. They're good and helpful people. The place is always stocked with whatever you'll need. You're not gonna find any exotic Gordon Ramsay material out there but it'll have all the needs for the rest of us peasants. If you gotta come here anytime past 2100 you'd better have your concealed carry or a blade. Park close to the store too. For at least half of the week the entire parking lot from the old Kmart (Now a storage facility I think) to Subway, you're gonna see a tweaker or two. They'll either pander you for money or start doing their best Thriller dance. They're usually not violent but they're still beamed up so don't pet the zoo animals and you'll be fine. It's a lot better out there now that the cops are making a presence but it's still sketchy...

I usually went to the swansboro store because I lived close to that store. I moved to Riggs Rd. When I would go to my mothers it was easier for me to go to food lion at midway park. I have found that all the employees are the nicest employees I've ever met. Any time I go there they jump at the chance to help load my groceries onto the belt. Then of course they bag and put them back in my cart. Yesterday it was raining very hard and I was alone with a cart full. The cashier told me to leave my cart and bring my car up and she will push my cart out to me. Not only did she do that but she helped load my groceries into my car in the down pouring rain. She did not have to do any of that and I greatly appreciate it. I wish I knew her name but I will always go to that store from now on. This is the best food lion I've been to. Worst grocery store experience ever! I have never been to once before so I was unaware of how it works. The cashier was rude from the start I simply told my husband "hunny these all day express let's just self check out" and the cashier goes "actually if you can read it says full service" that the the first thing. My husband who is a marine and over 21 asked me to put his beer on the belt and of course I did. She asked for his id he gave her it than asked for mine. My husband asked "why do you need hers" the cashier says " because she touched it". So then I put my number in and the discounts didn't come off and she was extremely rude about it. So I was getting aggravated and I left. So he tried getting his beer without me and they refused to sell me it....
