A remainder from a different time, before Amazon and eBay grew so large, Dillard's leaves something to be desired compared to its more modern counterparts. This store caters to an audience that is slowly dwindling - the wealthy trust fund folk that don't mind spending $600 on a leather jacket. It's saddening, in a way, to see the state of stores like these. This store, Dillard's #0311, Is one of the smallest in the nation. It is rarely busy and has essentially been reduced to be merely a path to Hibbett's and has been neglected by their corporate ownership. After searching for a long time through a poorly organized formal section to find the correct size, I tried on a formal gown and stepped out of the fitting room area to show it to my mom. I was in my stocking feet and obviously not leaving the store. A store employee (young man) told me to stay close to my fitting room while wearing THEIR clothes as if I planned to steal it. The fitting room employees checked carefully to insure I returned everything I took into the fitting room, which I usually approve of, but in this case seemed snarky. Like most stores it has its positives snd negatives. You definitely want to try each piece on before buying it. Most clearance stores dont allow returns. Not impressed with shoe dept, the selection of shoes. A little leopard print goes a long way. I like to browse, will often look at same thing before I decide to try it on, so best advice to staff-you can patrol while still being helpful. Learn what the indicators are for potential thieves, being able to distinguish between an honest shopper and one who is not can save future business. ;) Also, checkout takes too long so if there is s line, get up ftom the desk and come down to help out.
