Incompetent. I took a ring to be evaluated, and an employee told me there was no gold in the shank/setting. I felt the stone might be valuable, and she told me to come back when the owners were there. I called Mike the following Tuesday, telling him I had a nice Ametrine that my mother had paid good money for, asking him if he could look at it. He said to go ahead and bring it in and he'd make an offer on it. I rushed there, knowing he was leaving at a certain time. He found no worth in it, saying there was no gold, telling me to 'give it to some girl' or that maybe I'd get 50 bucks out of it if I tried to sell it. "Wish I had better news". I took it to Kas A. Designs today, a reputable jeweler compared to this one and received the 'better news'. She used a laser test on it, telling me it was set in 14k gold, that it was a nice-sized good quality gem, and that the wrapping design was very well made and one that she had never seen before, very unique. She appraised it at 1200.00. Even though Mike apparently lied, saying he'd make an offer, I thank God his incompetent business didn't make one as it probably would've only been pennies and I may have been vulnerable to believe that's all it was worth. I was referred to Show Me Gold and Silver by Trim's Pawn Shop. After my experience with Show Me Gold and Silver, I spoke with Trim's again, sharing my interactions with Mike and also with Kas. A Designs, whom they highly respect. I told them not to send any more business to Show Me Gold and Silver and they said they wouldn't and hopefully they don' t. Show Me Gold and Silver, Vandelichts, and Yellow Moon Antique Mall were all incompetent, apparently not knowing how to properly test a ring for gold and making me feel like it wasn't worth anything. Thankfully, Kas. A Designs exists in the Jefferson City area and I would recommend them to anyone over...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about this amazing store! I bought a pair of vintage Zuni earrings that were truly one-of-a-kind. Unfortunately, one fell off and got run over in a parking lot. I was absolutely HEARTBROKEN! For anyone who appreciates Native-made art, you know how challenging it can be to get repairs. Many jewelers won’t touch Native jewelry because of differences in silver standards or the delicate nature of stones like turquoise, which can burn easily.
After being turned away by four jewelers who said things like, “We don’t work on Native jewelry” or “That can’t be fixed,” I was ready to give up hope. Then I found this incredible store. Not only do they carry authentic Native jewelry, but they also restored my earrings to NEAR PERFECTION!
The craftsmanship and care they put into the repair blew me away. My earrings are as gorgeous as ever, and I’m beyond grateful. Their knowledge and respect for Native art are unmatched. I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for authentic pieces or expert repairs. Thank you so much for saving my earrings...

Show me Gold and Silver is the type of store that one wouldn't expect to fine in central Missouri, not that I have a problem with this area. I love it here. But the level of artistic creativity and number of hand made items is simply fantastic; this is not simply a jewelry store. If you want a specific item or if you want it made they can do it for you at a very reasonable price. Also, there is an outstanding inventory of rings, bracelets, wedding rings, antique jewelry, gold and silver not usually found in the customary jewelry store. If your jewelry is broken they can fix it; all at very reasonable prices. Check it out, you...
