An Absolute Gem for Korean Groceries and More.
Joong Boo Market is hands down one of my favorite places to shop.not just for Korean stuff, but for Asian groceries.Every time I walk in, I feel like I’ve stepped into a vibrant, bustling little town. From fresh produce, rare snacks, and pantry staples, Joong Boo got it. One of the first things that stands out is how well organized the place is,as well as this bussin lemon cafe on the go coffees constant flow of customers, shelves are always stocked and there is even a whole cookware and more section with hats?!Their produce section is full of variety,I once saw these 3 packs of baby apples from New Zealand which for a korean mart is wild. And their seafood and meat products are top level. You can really taste the difference in quality when you cook with their food. But what truly sets Joong Boo apart is their buldak ramen, personal fav be carbonara,The selection of stuff is crazy, spicy chips, matcha kitcats, those melon candies every grandmas purse has. It’s a must-stop for a quick, authentic, and affordable meal ingredients.
The staff is also worth mentioning—they’re cool, knowledgeable, and efficient. Even during busy hours, the checkout has never been more quick, and I’ve always found someone willing to help when I had a question about an item. Whether you’re Korean, a fan of Korean stuff, or just curious and looking to try something new, Joong Boo is a fantastic place to explore. It’s more than just a grocery store—it’s an experience. Every visit is a mini culinary adventure, and I always leave with something new to try and a deeper appreciation for this...
Read moreI am super exited about Joong Boo opening this location. At the beginning I was so confused when I found out about it because outside it says warehouse so I didn’t think they also had a market section but after a post of someone in Facebook I decided to visit the store. I was literally in shock when the cashier told me they have been open for 7 months, I told her management need to promote it more because so many people didn’t know about it and even here in Google it was saying Hi Mart market instead of Joong Boo which I edited myself. The stores it’s HUGE compare to the one on kimball, it has everything and more since it’s big. Only thing I didn’t see at this location was an inside Korean restaurant but for the rest it was EXCELLENT. I really love coming to joong boo and now even more with this location so close to my home. As a huge south Korean culture fans, I would say my only recommendation is that they should put some Korean music as background like H mart does, it makes you feel you are in SK when you listen to their native music. Other than the music highly...
Read moreOk listen if yr from a higher cost of living area visiting Chicago this place will take you back! Old school k market catering with inventory to Korean clientele. Still that ajumma and halmoni 손 맛 homemade banchan for reasonable not jacked up prices. When I tell you the jubilant incredulous glee when receipt said $200 for a ridiculous amount of 반찬, 회 !!, and old and new school snacks. And the workers are NICE. Shooketh to feel genuine friendliness at a kmarket. They were so happy for our happy total too. TIP: can get chopsticks at register for the prepared food that you will scarf in car in parking lot. Also apparently there is an upstairs with food court but we wouldn’t know bc even tho we saw open stairs we fumbled. In our defense a platter of sashimi awaited. $40 bc it wasn’t Wed or Fri when it’s 30 bucks. Ridiculous price !! And it was good and not the...
