Incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming staff. A brewery with weekly specials on Tuesday ($3 off cocktails) and Wednesdays (50% off all wines) and pretty fair prices for beer pours. There is even a rotating cask style. It has a well lit modern industrial feel. During the warmer seasons they have a medium sized beer garden in the back, but all year round dogs are welcomed inside. No kitchen but a bunch of neighborhood eateries deliver.
Free spacious parking lot around the west side of the building and handicap accessible entrance and chairlift inside.
Reservations for the taproom seating (if you plan on hosting a party) can easily be made on their website.
I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area, or into craft beer. Their hazy style Le Juz won gold a few years ago and is still a hard hitting classic. Shout out to my favorite bartender Charlie for always my family and me...
Read moreWe stopped at this brewery on our way home from playing golf nearby. We are not from Chicago but do pride ourselves on visiting local breweries anywhere we travel. I'm rating this 4 stars for the beer itself, the taproom, and the sandwich food vendor they had the Friday afternoon we visited. It's been our experience that staff in breweries usually go out of their way when new people visit. Especially when the visitors say from the start "we are new here". IMO, this staff needs a refresh in that your only customers aren't just your regular Friday afternoon crowd. Even a little chat about your beers, conversing with us on which beers would match what we like. No rudeness though. Just so apparent the focus was on the regulars. Good beer! One and done taproom. Not one other experience like this in our many...
Read moreWell, I came from Oregon to visit Chicago. I didn't have a lot of time in the city. I made the trip out to Alarmist, not close to downtown mind you, but their reputation called. After my 25 minute Uber ride I was informed that I arrived too late to drink beer at this location. Regardless of it being 15 minutes before closing, I was turned away. I was told it's against the law to serve me. Very doubtful. Super disappointed in the lack of compassion for my situation. Sure, drunks and heavy socializers are to be cut off well before closing so they don't flap their jaws after the hour, but a fan who travelled from great distance, and wanted nothing more than a sip for the experience. Shame on you, dare I call...
