I had a very negative experience at the drive-thru pharmacy window today (September 8th - at the Jersey Shore, PA location). The employee working the window (named Pam) was extremely rude, unprofessional, and spoke to me in a snarky and dismissive tone. I understand that pharmacies can be busy and stressful, but there is no reason for customers to be treated in such a disrespectful manner. As a customer, I expect clear communication and courtesy, and this interaction left me feeling frustrated and undervalued.
I received a call at 4:20pm from who I assume to be a pharmacy technician regarding seizure medication that is newly prescribed to my dog, Maggie. She informed me that it was being filled then and would be ready in 5 minutes. I didn’t actually get to the store until around 5pm, so way more than 5 minutes. Pam was immediately rude, saying she doesn’t know who would have called me because nothing was ready and it was not approved yet. She kept going back and forth with me and wouldn’t let me get a word in edgewise. I’m not sure where the confusion was, eventually I asked for someone else to talk to. She rolled her eyes and obliged to the request.
The girl who came to the window next was actually the girl who called me to tell me the meds were being filled, I didn’t catch her name, but she was great and handled the incident professionally. The meds were filled and ready, by the way.
