The waterpark was very nice an convenient since it was local to where I live. They had quite a bit for my child to do, with a big twist slide, a big play area/obstacle course thing for the kids to play on. The obstacle course had waterfalls, steps go climb up, tire swing that would spray water, 2 slides and a little tunnel. There was also a shallow little pool for young toddlers, 2 diving boards, an adult only lounge area (where you could sunbath in shallow water), they had a rope block off and when you went under it there was a huge open deep end to swim in.
I did not try the concession stand but it was pretty packed so I assume they had good food and drinks. There was alot of signs advertising fresh strawberry and regular lemonade. They had quite a few tables with umbrellas for shade while you eat.
There was a ton of lounge chairs to tan, relax or put your belongings on. We were lucky enough to find some chairs under one of the gigantic umbrellas they have so it blocked us from the sun. We had a 9 month old with us so we wanted some shade.
Once we were done swimming we went into the locker room to change. This was actually quite clean and very big. There is some bathroom stalls, sinks, showers, lockers (I would bring your own lock) and stalls with curtains to change. The stalls to change is around the corner an in a big open area. Now there are a few benches to sit on in the changing area and they have one baby changing station.
The price is $8.50 for daily individuals. Kids 2 and under are free. Senior citizens 62+ are 7.50 Individual season pass is $75 Family of 4 season pass is $240 Each additional child for season pass is $40. Season pass is Memorial day to Labor Day.
I definitely recommend this place!
The only thing I would change would be to add another gigantic umbrella so there is more shaded spots to lay under. Also 2 adult women and 2 young boys were throwing a foam water ball from the deep end to the little kid area, which was quite away. So there was a big open gap an people would walk in between them not knowing what was going on. There was a few times people and my family almost got hit because the boys were throwing hard. My thing is the adults should of known better then to be throwing line drives across a pool full of ppl. Also I feel like the lifeguards should of asked them to stop considering kids who just started to walk all the way up to adults were walking/playing there.
EDIT- this was posted from 7/21 but was updated...
Read moreI was trying to enjoy the weather and fish at the lake. I was fishing in my kayak and I was across the lake. I hear and see this couple at the shore yell at me to come to them. Me think it was because I didn’t get a fishing pass but I’m a member and didn’t think I needed one. As I’m approaching them the male starts yell at me say that no boats are allowed in the water. I replied and said I did not know that. (I’m in the process of paddling to the shore) He still is raising his voice at me saying that there are signs that say that. I replied saying I didn’t see the signs where I parked and he said they were down the road. I kept saying I didn’t know as I was trying to get out of the water. He said that he could call the cops if I wanted him to. I told him he can but I was getting out. The wife finally spoke to me and very rudely said that I can drag my kayak down to my truck which was probably 300 yards from me. He said that the owner is on his way to talk to me. As I was getting out of the water the maintenance guy pulled up which he was very nice. He explained that the signs are not super obvious but it’s because of insurance. I explained I just didn’t see the sign and understand the rule.
The maintenance guy explained to me that the couple was the camp ground hosts. It would be one thing for them to be so rude if I wasn’t cooperating with them but they were very rude from the beginning to the end. If I was the owner that couple would not be who’s hosting my campground. Me and my wife love camping and have actually camped at oak valley. The only reason this review gets 2 stars is because of how nice the...
Read moreThis was the worst course I’ve ever played on. I had high hopes as the club house seemed new, but it was downhill from there. First, it was hard to find the front nine since it’s roughly 3/4 of a mile away from the club house and there were no signs or a course marshal there to direct you. This wasn’t necessarily a big deal as one of the grounds keepers came by and helped me out. Upon arriving at the tee the guy tells me, “you’re lucky! They are mowing the front 9 right now and they haven’t done that in a couple weeks!” The guy wasn’t kidding, they were literally mowing the entire time I was trying play which caused a lot of issues. They were doing this at 2 pm which is what I’d consider a high traffic time and a bad time to accomplish the task. Additionally, the course was in terrible repair and the fairways were essentially not existent. For them actively mowing and had mowed certain areas, I couldn’t believe how the fairway was essentially an extension of the rough. Hole 10 was particularly bad. The ground was completely covered in a vine grass and was about 2-3 inches tall on the fairway. In the spots where there wasn’t vegetation, the ground was completely barren and dry. In most areas the cart paths were dirt or gravel and extremely rough. The area that are paved, or crumbling and in extreme disrepair. The only positive I will give them are the greens. The greens were in decent condition and had challenging, but fun pin placement. Unfortunately, this is not enough to salvage the course in general. I will not be back unless the course...
