Worst thrift store around. So much donated items sitting outside ruined by weather, sitting in standing water, & broken. I cant imagine anyone who donates to this place would do so if they knew it all would be treated like trash. Huge boxes of packs of diapers sitting outside, completely soaked. No organization at all. Stuff lying all over the floor & piled precariously everywhere, you can barely walk through. Everything is so filthy, you will feel dirty coming out. Half of the stuff inside is unaccesible due to how its piled up so theres no way of even trying to sell it. High level fire safety risk by noncompliance of aisleway clearance. High slips/trips/fall accident risk. Exponential liability issues. No heat or air so you will be shopping in an ice box or the pits of Mordor. Literally have to try to haul everything up front to get a price from 1 woman. Over priced on everything, like they're trying to make up for loss of customers & sales by gouging the few who wander in. Man & woman at the front counter constantly engaged in massages & back rubs makes it an extremely uncomfortable experience. Place has just really went completely downhill in every aspect. For those who love thrifting, all other thrift stores in Tri-cities area is 100 times better and you will enjoy your treasure hunt while financially supporting...
Read moreA great spot to buy items that are three times the price elsewhere, Sure many items are used but used doesn't mean trash! Prices are competitive with other thrift stores in the area.
Some reviewers are complaining about the items being donated why are they priced at all....?? A purchase here funds TWO separate houses for homeless men and women, the funds also pay for utilities at those houses as well as fuel and insurance for the few vehicles the Ministry owns. These vehicles are used to transport residents to a job or medical appointments as well as delivering meals to shut ins. The funds are also used to help the general public with rent assistance or medical bills or food or clothing..The Ministry does not own a private jet and the pastor drives a 14 year old vehicle!! The haven is a blessing to this area, without the haven there would be many many more folks hurting...
Read moreWe as a society in Johnson city need to learn not to give to such places like this one. They do charge way to much for the items that have been donated. I do understand there's overhead cost but seeing as they are set up outside now there's no light bill and i also know that most of their workers are the people staying at their Haven of Mercy houses which they pay little to nothing because they stay at the house. At one point this was a great place to go to get second hand stuff but whoever is over it now has made significant changes. With having as much as they have you would think they would do better on prices. If your looking for a thrift store i suggest She's Thrifty on Main St in front of Keystone or Gods Corner on Watauga below Tyler Apts for me these places are true thrift stores and lets start donating to these stores that are more appreciating of...
