First time doing business at this place and felt like I was trapped in purgatory. Before arriving I called asking some questions about an adapter and was hung up on before I asked for the price. When I got there I wandered around the store aimlessly since nothing was really organized nor were there any signs of what items were where. The store also has no air conditioning, just several old dusty fans blowing hot air around. Eventually an older woman found and handed me the adapter I needed but didn't have the price, telling me I have to go to counter to get one. There I was ignored for about 20 minutes as the only two gentlemen there continued to help contractors and regulars, even ones who showed up after me. They really don't care about anyone else like others have pointed out. Finally after standing in the hot, dusty, old store surrounded for some reason by deer heads mounted all over the walls I was finally helped only to be told the store DOES NOT TAKE ANY CARDS. I handed the gentlemen what cash I had for the adapter as he for some reason frustratingly threw the cash in the register, slammed it close, and walked into the back. I did not receive a receipt nor told a goodbye or anything, just left there confused. None of this truly bothered me until I went home and found the adapter doesn't even work. Don't waste your time at this ancient ruin of a store ran by angry boomers. Just order whatever you need...
ย ย ย Read moreWow just looking at the other reviews I am shocked. I bought some light adapters about 2 weeks ago. The lady that waited on me was elderly but friendly. She said I could return them if they didn't fit. Well they didn't fit. I tried to return them at the Greeneville store but the guy said he will order the right size and we'll just trade them out. He never took my name or contact number or asked how many I would like to order. He just said call back in a week or two. A week later I decided I wanted a refund so I took them back to the Johnson city store. The same elderly lady decided to complain about having to pay out on the debit cards. She took the bag of adapters and decided to tell me that she would have to clean them up because they were dirty. I told her there was only one adapter ever removed from the bag and that was how she sold them to me. I was very offended by this comment and told her we don't use "dirty" hands to try out one adapter. Only one adapter was ever pulled out of the bag and the adapters were exactly how we "received" them. I like to try to shop at mom and pop stores but I definitely was not treated very well at this one. This is not how to treat customers if you want to stay in business. I will not be back even if I have to go out of state to purchase...
ย ย ย Read moreWent to ask for a replacement globe on a lamp I bought there. Would not even discuss taking the lamp back without a receipt. I was told that because the light had been wired in they would not take it back either. That particular lamp is not sold at any other place that I can find in Johnson City. I really wanted the light and was willing to epoxy the small piece at the top of the light that was broken. I had planned to return and buy two Tiffany lamps for my living room. I will never do business with this outfit again. Acted like either I had broken the lamp or the electrician had broken the lamp. I had kept the lamp in an isolated part of our basement to protect it from any damage until the electrician could put it up. My husband was there when the electrician opened the box along with several other carpenters. Not a fan of this business any longer. Canโt abide someone who stiffs me for over $100! I took two lamps there to have the screw that holds the lightbulb socket on and new felt bottoms about two weeks ago. When I went to pick them up the screw had not been replaced and the the felt that was cut for the bottom of the lamps was cut in a very jagged and uneven manner. In effect I was charged $30 for two pieces of jagged felt and about 20...
