Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Johnson City

I will say that I will never go back to this location. If I could give no stars I would. I waited for almost 15 mins to get my order taken then the girl taking my order was rude and rushing me, I feel like she said an E or A name like Emma or something. she talked kinda fast so i cant be sure and with each thing I ordered it seemed like it was an issue as she kept saying anything else or what else like are you for real? Customers are why you have a job and if you don't wanna be respectful then don't work in customer service! She hurried me like rushing me to hurry up and end my ordering. I only ordered 3 meals and it took another 15-17 minutes for my food to come out and it wasn't very busy. The car hop was no better, I think female but not sure, they had light short hair and wore shorts and she/he rushed to push the food at us and I just left but when I got home my order was wrong and the food was not fresh. The chicken was hard and dried out, tots were hard and my son's fry was not full and were limp and floppy, burger was made wrong too. I won't ever go to this sonic again. I'd rather drive 30 mins to Kingsport to get better service! Oh and it reeked of pot near the stall I was at which was near the back of the building towards the bathrooms and it was coming from an employee. While waiting on my food, I saw a man in his car, windows opened and I started smelling marijuana smell, and once he got out his car, I saw a sonic shirt and put 2 and 2 together! I'm surprised that Sonic allows their employees in uniform to smoke weed on the property on the clock or not. Maybe this company isn't a place I wanna spend my money, I mean what if my kid had been with me and I had to explain to a 6 year old what that smell was. I'll never come to this sonic again or possibly any...

I absolutely love ordering my, for the most part, daily large Strawberry Cheesecake Hand-Mixed Master Shake no cherry, and I just recently tried adding banana to it, and I would definitely recommend! Now, usually, I show up in the morning while I have school, but tonight I decided to see if I could make it in time before they closed. It’s advertised as being open until 12:00 AM, but when I showed up at 11:55 PM and pressed the button, I was upsettingly welcomed to a 5 minute wait, and the lights turning off on me. If they would have just answered the intercom and told me something like, “sorry, but we already cleaned our milkshake machine and can’t make shakes at this time.” It would’ve been a lot less disrespectful rather than have me sit there waiting for 5 minutes, just to turn off the lights without saying a word..

On a very important side note, though! Tonya! She usually is always working mornings and is always so freaking happy and very energetic and excited and loving everything in life, and all with just the biggest smile on her face! She literally makes it worth coming back every morning because she makes the absolute best milkshakes every single time and if you ever just need to find a way to smile, she’s the one who will share some smile with you and make you just as happy as she is by the time you leave! She gets 5 stars as the best employee at this store, without a doubt! She’s amazing! Keep her happy and smiling and you’ll never lose this customer who will be sure to come back every morning just to see her and wonder how someone could possibly be so happy while at work! Good eating, but half the time they do not have what I want ready. Which is the chilli cheese foot long. Even though today I had to order a cheeseburger, it still took a bit to get ready since it was not ready to be cooked. They were very polite and gave me a few coupons for my next visit. I enjoy fresh food like that. Breakfast for dinner and dinner for breakfast has always been my style.

Update - dinner tonight 1-7-2023 - grabbed 3 strips, 2 corn dogs, a large jumbo popcorn chicken combo, and a medium snickers icecream and added caramel. I ordered on the app, but when I got the food some of it was cold (not tue chicken) the corn dogs tasted as though they were sitting for a little bit, and the extra caramel wasn't on there. They were busy so I didn't want to bother the lady bringing food out. That's 2 down in JC, 1 left to try in Elizabethton.
