Walked in with a banjo. The man was working on a guitar. Young lady in front of me was looking for strings. The man walked her through the options and explained pretty thoroughly. She purchased some strings. I asked a ton of questions. Purchased a tuner ,picks, etc. He tuned the banjo and showed me how to use the tuner. Great customer service. . Very nice store. Friendly atmosphere. Will go here for now on.
Edit: I started taking lessons for banjo. Very comfortable setting. Each instructor has a room. The waiting area is comfortable with a table and couch. I warm up at the house before my lesson. When I arrive I tune up and warm up again for about 5 minutes before my lesson starts in the waiting room. Excited for future lessons.
Edit: Corey is the gentleman I take lessons from. I have had 7 lessons and couldn't be happier. Comfortable atmosphere, it's clean and the encouragement is through the roof. He is very patient. I am excited for the future and look forward to every lesson. If you had been thinking about taking lessons I would say do it. Great...
Read moreBeing a recent relocate to the area, it was my first time in this shop.. I think it was probably my first time in Jonestown for that matter. I had seen and read the shop's reviews before going, and I can tell you that there is a reason that they are as high as they are. This shop is in a newly acquired space, in a building on the same block as the old shop. As soon as I walked in, I could tell it was a special place. The owner, his name I can't recall, was behind the counter working on a few customer repairs and re-strings.. He was welcoming and unpretentious. You could right away tell he was very proud of his new shop, and rightfully so.. It is beautiful in there, with stained open-beam ceilings and shaker-style walls throughout. The inventory was extensive.. Lots of both new and used guitars, both acoustic and electric, the accessories too! The place is a true 10/10 and I...
Read moreI've gone to Creter Guitar Shop for well over two decades now. The fact that Matt and Ronnie are great with guitar repair/alteration goes without saying, but - just as importantly - the customer service is top-notch. These men are honest, down to earth, and friendly; you will find no pretense, or deception here. Matt doesn't engage in upselling. He simply does his best to fulfill the customer's needs and wants (he's always hit the mark with me.) The head of shop security, Arlo, is also worth mentioning. While he may trot up to you with tail wagging and a bone hanging from his mouth, he has also been known to frequently sleep on the job. He is truly a mainstay at the shop, and I always look forward to spending a few minutes with him. I can say without the slightest hesitation, you won't find a better guitar shop...
