Very unpleasant experience, would not recommend. I knew what I wanted, told both Mike and Guy, they ignored me to sell me what they liked, the most expensive mattress in the store, assuring me I'd love it. Had to insist to get in writing that I could return if I didn't like it. After one night I wanted to exchange it. When I mentioned the horrible smell emitting from the mattress they played dumb, like that was the first time anyone complained. it turns out foam out gassing VOCs is a common complaint of the new style mostly foam mattresses. [actually a major health hazard for people with asthma] As far as the warranty is concerned, Mike implied the mattress was from Spring Air. it's actually from an outfit Midwest Mattress that makes mattresses for Spring Air, not the same. Nothing in writing, just trust Mike! Since the mattress I wanted to exchange it for was not in stock I had to wait 10 days to exchange it. I was owed $450 difference from the original. Mike declined having me come over to his shop to put the difference back on my card, instead telling me he'd leave a check. I should have known better to trust him at this point to do the right thing. I got shorted $200.
Anyhow I blame myself for not realizing mattress salesmen are like car salesmen, and trusting them. I found this shop, very unprofessional, casual, nothing in writing unless insisted on, "trust me".
update: one month later The mattress I ended up with from MMs, the $1100 7000 extra firm, has after one month, two 1 inch deep depressions where I sleep, one on each side of the mattress as I've rotated the mattress each week when changing the sheets. This was the reason I got rid of my 15 year old innerspring mattress, that after all that time the springs had sagged, and I was sleeping in a hole. Imagine my profound disappointment that having a new mattress after ONE MONTH, breakdown as badly as one 15 years old. I googled the condition and found this is not uncommon with new mattress that are mostly made with cheap foam. I also found out the things I had originally mentioned to Mike, like the horrible smell, the lack of edge support, sleeping sweaty hot, the feeling of "quicksand" and the difficulty of moving on and getting off the original MMs memory foam mattress are all common problems discussed and rated on mattress rating sites, but Mike and Guy played dumb and acted like I was the first person to have a problem. The lack of edge support means that after a lifetime on sitting on the edge of the bed to put my shoes on, that now when I sit, the edge collapses and I slide towards the floor. The "factory warranty" means that, if honored, I could exchange this POS for another expensive/ cheap mattress, and there is no satisfaction guaranteed or your money back policy, that shows Mike doesn't stand behind his product. Ultimately Mattress Mikes has a small selection of cheaply made mattresses, so has to sell what he has. I'm out $1700 with nothing to show for it. So do your research on sites like mattress foundation or sleep geek to educate yourself before you buy....
Read moreThis was absolutely the easiest, most pleasant experience I have ever had picking out a bed. My guy had passed this place on his way to work every day and after asking around, found out they had reasonably cheap prices and quality mattresses at Mike’s. So his mother and I went in, was met by Mike himself, who is a very friendly guy. We were in and out in 20-30 minutes. They have a wonderful selection of beautyrest mattresses that will cater to most anyone’s needs. He helped us find a queen mattress, an easy to assemble frame, and even threw in a mattress pad! Same day delivery, no fuss. I have bought a queen bed from Ashley Furniture and a king bed from Starr furniture, Mike carries exactly the same quality as these places at a fraction of the cost. We...
Read moreA more than exceptional experience! Phil, the salesman, is fantastic. Not only was he very knowledgeable about the products, he was also extremely patient, through about a million different questions that the two of us barraged him with, he had solid answers for each and every one. This is who to go to when you decide that it's time to get a new bed. Hands down, I would absolutely without hesitation recommend that you go to Mattress Mike's and get aquatinted with Phil. If I had more than 2 thumbs, I'd raise them all. Double the 5 Star rating availability, and that'd be about right. Need a mattress? Go See Phil. What are you doing still sitting there reading this? Get to Mattress...
