Pasta Per Favore — Restaurant in Kansas City

UPDATE: Our first visit was most definitely just an off night. We were able to try it fresh and it is AMAZING! Definitely the best takeout Italian food we have ever had. The Chicken Parm was still crunchy around the edges and had amazing flavor. My wife even found it to be one of the best and she is kind of a Chicken Parm snob. :) The marinara is still perfection. It tastes light, fresh, and well seasoned. It still amazes me they are able to cook pasta so perfectly that its still great when you get home. There are no gummy noodles and it is not stuck together. Had a chance to speak with Tony on this visit and his service is top notch! Probably one of the nicest restauranteurs I have had the pleasure to speak with. He and his family definitely take a huge amount of pride in their food and restaurant. I would probably bump my rating to 8/5 if I could. Make sure and grab a slice of amazingly fudgy chocolate torte (so divine!) or creamy tiramisu as well. Superb!

I had heard and read great things about Pasta Per Favore and my wife and I were looking forward to trying it. Didn't have the best first experience but will still try again hoping it was just an off night. We ordered a Family Style Chicken Parmesan with Caesar side salads. When I arrived to pick it up I stood at the counter for several minutes before the young lady ever approached the counter. Picked up our order and headed home. Got 2 blocks from home before receiving a phone call that part of our order was left out by mistake. Mistakes happen so no biggie except we live 10 minutes from the store so what should have been a quick 10 minute drive home added 20 more minutes back to the restaurant and then back home. We were offered some cheesecake for the trouble which was great but by the time we got home most everything was lukewarm at best. The flavor of everything was fantastic though. The portions were generous and priced very fairly. The marinara had a light, fresh flavor and for takeout spaghetti it was very well cooked. Not mushy or stuck together. Hopefully our next attempt will be a bit better and I can update...

Typically not the person to leave a bad review but this seems necessary.

I went in and everything was fine and welcoming the person who I assume was the owner took my order.

We had a decent conversation about my shellfish allergy and how by no means was I to have shrimp in the pasta that I ordered.

I waited for my order and conversed with the owner about potential catering and we again talked about my allergy.

He assured me there would be no shrimp and then gave me a catering menu and wrote his cell on it.

I took the menu and he handed me my food and again assured me that it was double chicken. I get all the way back to work and luckily I look at my food before I eat it. To find atleast 5-6 pieces of shrimp in the bottom of my bowl.

I instantly called the main line and they didn't answer. I called his cell several times and he didn't answer. Finally I text the picture below and he apologized and asked should he remake it or refund me. I said I'll just take the refund since I clearly couldn't eat the food.

I allowed 3 weeks to go by and reached out again to get ignored.

I literally could have went into anaphylactic shock. It's careless and dangerous to run a business like this and have no customer service after you made a mistake.

Not only will I never eat here again I will definitely let everybody else no to stay clear. The after treatment also insured that the 40 plus people we feed every Saturday won't be participating in dealings with this business.

ALL I NEEDED WAS...

I had been wanting to stop here for a while as I have been searching for the best Italian food in KC - please no suggestions, I have a long list lol). We drove by and thought it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. They focus mostly on takeout - in fact, they started this business only recently out of this warehouse space. Previously, they made cheesecakes for businesses in the area. We met the owner who was so kind - he took us through the menu and what he recommended. Everything is made to order - it is all fresh. This is REAL pasta. We picked up our food and not only the portions were huge, but he was tremendously generous and tossed in his famous bolognese. Everything we ate was a masterpiece. The food lasted us four whole days! Oh, and some of the best tiramisu I have had in my entire life. Please everyone - look online, order ahead for lunch or dinner - and experience true...
