Costco Distribution Center — Local services in Katy

I was here to deliver a truck load of Washington apples. My paperwork said arrive by 4:45 PM. I arrived at 4:30 PM. I was told that deliveries only happen in the morning. And I need to go to a truck stop. Come back at 5 AM tomorrow. I discovered something about truck stops in Texas that I did not know before. There's a very small section of free parking. Everything else you have to pay to stay overnight. And the free parking is always full. Anyways, I arrived the next day at 5 AM. There were maybe 10 trucks in line ahead of me. I checked in at the guard booth and was given a pager. And told to go park around the corner inside the facility. When the pager goes off, that tells you what door to back into. It took a few hours before my pager went off, and I was assigned a door. The entire operation from check in to exit was very efficient. A little bit time...

This place is easy to find and easy to get into. I showed up 55 minutes before appointment. Was given a pager and told there was no door for me. After waiting three hours I went back to guard shack to ask what the hold up was. Was told my load type only had two doors. I had vitamins. Interestingly enough I seen a truck come in after me, get a door and unload before me. Once I was in the door after more than three hours waiting it took almost an hour to unload me. The paper tells you what door to go to and when you're done unloading to go to guard shack to get your proof of delivery. Takes a while to unload. They have porta potties for those long waits. Great place to deliver to. Showed up 0900 for a 0930 unload, take the left most lane going up to the guard shack. The person at the computer will check your papers and give you a pager. Pager will repeat which door to back up to and you open the door and slide the tandems. There is not much room if you got trucks on either side so you'll need to open your doors beforehand. From there back up and wait for your pager to buzz and flash red telling you to check out. Not much for parking nearby but apparently you can show up after 5pm to park overnight if you have a morning appointment.
