My experience at this salon was absolutely terrible. I’m not sure how they managed to get a 4.9-star rating. I usually go to Sport Clips, where I’m always greeted by someone. I decided to give this salon a try, expecting better service considering their prices are 70% higher than Sport Clips.
When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted at all. There was a man at the reception who seemed like a worker, and two other workers were just chatting. One stylist told me she’d take me, and I went to the chair. She put a towel on me and left to help someone at the register.
She came back, started my haircut, and then left again. She did it almost four or five times, apologizing every time. I asked her why she needed to interrupt my haircut, and she apologized, saying they had a new worker who was having trouble charging customers and she was helping him out. She also mentioned that the manager wasn’t there, which was why it was happening.
In the middle of all this, another stylist started arguing with the one who was cutting my hair about charging a customer higher than they were supposed to. My stylist politely told them that I had a client and that we could argue later. However, she had to interrupt my haircut to take a few calls, probably from the management on the same matter.
It felt like I was at a Chinese hair salon where they charge $9 for a haircut and keep talking in Chinese and arguing with each other. This is not the service I expected for a $39 regular man haircut. It seems like they are short of staff and the manager is doing a poor job of keeping up with...
Read moreLet me list the positives. Beautiful shop. Clean and aesthetically pleasing. Both of the male barbers were professional and kind; offered us drinks while we waited. Now onto the matter at hand. -the reception didn’t even acknowledge us when we came in -the initial barber didn’t know how to scissor cut but offered the appointment to his coworker who would be back in 15 minutes; he only knew how to use clippers because “this is a barbershop, I do buzz cuts” -the female barber who knows how to scissor cut arrives, the receptionist tells her about the situation and now this female barber says the same thing “this is a barbershop; I don’t know how to scissor cut. We use clippers” the whole time the receptionist who hasn’t said as much as a hello to us is nodding in agreement as if she’s being affirmed by the statement. -the female barber offered to try to scissor cut his shoulder length hair to the style (which was a middle part with layers and length to the nape of the neck) but at this point I was turned off by their attitude and told my son we’ll go elsewhere
I wanted to try out a new barbershop for my son since he finally is getting out of his grunge look and was met with complete incompetence wrapped up in a condescending attitude and tone. Barbershops are for men haircuts if you are a professional you should know how to scissor cut and not only know how to use clippers.
Afterwards we went to his usual barbershop and got the haircut we were asking for because they knew how to...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I went there with a Caucasian friend. We just moved in the area so we wanted to check this place out. He put his name first so he got picked up before me is obvious. 15 minutes after I sat down, there was another client walking in and the next available barber picked him before me. The client looked at me confusingly since he knew that it was supposed to be me next but no one gave me an explanation. Another 20 minutes passed away, my friend got his hair done and I thought it was my turn next but NO, his barber took another one that came out of nowhere, not me. Then another barber just finished with her client and still did not take me. She rather cleaned up the floor. I would not be so upset if someone would just come and tell me "hey, sorry that you have to wait but you're next" and I would be happy to stay. Instead, no one cared, nobody looked at the only person sitting in the waiting area, like I was invisible. Never did I know my race played such an important part to get serviced at a barbershop. So if you're Asian, save your $$$ somewhere else. And if you're lucky to get serviced there, you should buy a lotto ticket first thing after getting out...
