Color Nails — Local services in Keansburg

AVOID!!! I rarely treat myself so today was supposed to be really special to me. I went in for a simple gel pedicure, and I always try to be very clear with what I want so there is no misunderstandings, especially when there’s a bit of a language barrier. My toenails were pretty long and when the gentleman asked if I wanted to keep them long or clip them short, I said I just wanted them filed so that they are straight across. I even made hand gestures so I felt confident that he knew what I meant. Long story short he clipped them, unevenly, into nubs. Someone else, I believe it was the owner- saw this and came over to try to fix them, but all she could do was neaten them up (which she did) as she was working with a customer at the time and there wasn’t much nail left to work with. They looked better, but her filing them to fix them made them even shorter and now my nails are so short that my toes actually hurt when I take steps. They’re messy, uneven, and far too short, but the real rub is that they STILL charged me full price ($40!!!). That was the most shocking part. I thought after that much of a screw up they would at least do the gracious thing and offer a discount but they did not. Apparently, making an appointment instead of just walking in doesn't really matter. I've never spent so much time at a nail salon as I did, even as a walk-in. I made an appointment for 5:00 and didn't leave until about 3 hours later. I spent most of my time waiting around than actually getting any services done and just for my nails to be subpar anyway. They did apologize for the wait, but I feel my nails are sloppy work. I don't know if they were just tired or not comfortable with their work. I'm willing to give them one more chance to redeem themselves especially since they are within walking distance from my house, so it's convenient. If not, I will be going to a...

I sent my mother and girlfriend there to get their nails done as a Christmas present on December 26th. They didn't listen to what my girlfriend asked for, applied acrylic nails that she specifically asked not to have and just did a bunch of extra things they could charge for without asking properly. Then at the end of the entire ordeal, refused to take the credit card that I sent because "they prefer cash" and ignored any explanation otherwise which is just a shady business practice. I will never be sending anyone I know here ever again and will have to pay another place to perform the actual service that was wanted. ...
