This is not the first time this happened. But it’s the first time I talked to the front desk about it. Yesterday my wife and I visited the facility because it has a nice steam room and it also has a questionably nice hot tub. When we went to the hot tub we saw one of the facility managers talking to the only person in the hot tub. The person in the hot tub was wearing a weighted vest and curling two HUGE dumbbells. My wife and I decided to wait until they were done talking before we got into the hot tub. After they were done talking the manger left and the guy in the hot tub was doing lung kicks and push up’s and standing in the center of the hot tub curling these HUGE dumbbells. He was also live streaming all of this on his phone with the phone pointed towards the slide where young kids are. We also had to avoid being seen on his phone. My wife doesn’t want strangers seeing her body on the internet. All of this made us extremely uncomfortable. When I went to the front desk to talk to them about this I spoke with the lifeguard manager I think. I thought she was the main manger. She was EXTREMELY nice and receptive to this issue. She said they have gotten a ton of complaints but she’s not the aquatics manager so there was nothing she could do about it. She said the guy working out does this all of the time and hangs out in the hot tub for hours every day. She then called the aquatics manager. He was actually the guy we saw talking to the guy in the hot tub. This is where my one star rating comes in. I’d actually prefer to give it no stars. When I told this manger about how uncomfortable we felt in the hot tub because the guy was literally doing lung kicks that were barely missing us, pushups where one of his legs did hit my wife and taking up more than half the hot tub curling HUGE dumbbells, the manager didn’t think any of this was a problem. He said you’re allowed to lift weights and allowed to live stream on your phone. Literally, never in my entire life have I seen or been to a facility where you’re allowed to strenuously work out with weights and do hard core stretching in a hot tub. It was such a bizarre conversation. I mentioned how the other manager said there complaints and he was basically like so what. Seriously, please ask the gentleman not to do this while other people are in the hot tub. It’s not an unfair request. If the sign says no horse playing in the hot tub I would think that would also cover lifting and stretching like you’re doing a dance routine. We paid to come there and the guy in the hot tub was acting like this hot tub was his personal work out area. The manger acted like he was more entitled than us to enjoy the hot tub. I can’t stress enough how weird it was that he was allowed to workout in the hot tub. And how weird it was that the manger looked at me like I was being crazy for asking him to do something about it. So, be careful. If you’re going to this facility and you’re going to use the hot tub you’re probably going to have to do deal with this person. Read moreI rented out the Dance room for my toddler’s party I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND any to do that. To start the issues I had booking the party and getting a hold of someone was difficult and the website that I kept getting sent to myself to book it didn’t work. I was advised that there was tumbling mats and karate equipment in the room that could not be used or damaged.. upon arrival I realized that the mats and equipment is just out and so I explained that I’m hosting a TODDLER party and they may touch those items if they can be moved front desk staffed said they couldn’t be moved but as long as we don’t move use them or damage them I would get my deposit back. Jennifer tried to deny me my refund because toddlers TOUCHED the mats DIDNT USE, OR MOVE. When we noticed the little kids touching them we would tell them to stop touching them but I don’t see why they would be out in the open during private events… however the life guards and NOT PROPERLY TRAINED a child from our party was drowning right at the foot of one and after a uncle jumped in and we questioned the lifeguard why she didn’t try to help she said she was only trained to jump in if your screaming “help or I’m drowning” you’d imagine drowning mouth full of water… how do you scream?? I think a panic flapping arms and struggling are great indicators to help.. the staff was very rude and uptight I hate to pull the race card but they did treat my melanated family pretty rough thru the whole party. I didn’t feel much respect for most of the staff except for the two teen’s running the front desk. There was a elder lady with glasses and she was rude and also told me the room was fine and I’d get my deposit back. However days after the party with no refunded deposit I started to call Jennifer the lady in charge of booking parties and to no surprise she didn’t answer or return one call just sent a email letting me know the Matt’s were touched and I won’t get my deposit back via email when she knows I called and left VM she didn’t even CALL ME. I had to escalate my issue to her boss Steve which I believe he handled the issue with the deposit and said it’s be refunded it’s been two weeks and I’m still waiting. I was so disappointed with my visit to the rec center after hyping it up to my family sharing all my great experiences from childhood… not to mention the pool was only open Saturday from 12-4:45 which was odd with no holidays or anything. Read moreI love going here for a quick workout but the staff is really off-putting. I called AND went in BEFORE the monthly draft was due to come out of my bank account. My bank account was frozen due to some unauthorized activity so I was trying to pay this and remedy it beforehand so there would be no issues or fees added on. They denied taking my money to pay this last week and had me call someone this morning. I now have to pay a fee. It’s not much. Only 10$ but this is absolutely ridiculous. I went it to take care of this beforehand so I wouldn’t have to deal with any fees and multiple people ASSURED me there would be no problems. I didn’t even get an apology for all the misinformation. You need new staff.
EDIT: dropping to 1 star. went in just now to make my payment and was charged $20 extra. I was told I had 10 days to make my payment. Today would be the 9th day. I’m sick of no one knowing what they’re doing and changing the story. If I ever have a problem again I will record every phone call and interaction with employees. it is unfair to do this to someone that tried to take care of the issue DAYS before payment was due. not one, but TWO employees assured me I’d have no fees. then I was told by a 3rd person it’d be 10$. I was annoyed but agreed. and now $20? you guys are ridiculous. The only positive thing I can say is a young girl up front that helped me out and took my payment was very courteous. She was very nice and apologized profusely even though it wasn’t her fault. Did any of the other 3 apologize? Nope. She deserves...
