I've never visited the Oval before. My dog groomer (A Fur Affair-why yes this is a plug for them-I am receiving no compensation for this of course) is next to Harmon's and I was only getting my one dog groomed so I had to keep the other one busy. It's a very nice park! A couple of open fields for like soccer, baseball diamonds, at least 2 areas of jungle gyms for kids. The one jungle gym area had a zip line! Not elevated but kids can get on it and go from one end to the other. The slides were amazing! I wished I wasn't fat and could climb thru the money bars to try one of them. I never had anything like this when I was a kid. They also had this cement slide and I couldn't figure it out. WHO SLIDES ON CEMENT?? Well, ask and ye shall see. A boy, maybe 6 years old, came over and demonstrated. 😜 I asked him if they run water on it in the summer and he shook his head no. Bummer! The only thing I had an issue with, and this is me and my Pomeranian, he has short little legs so when we have to go across grass he gets a little workout cuz he has to kind of skip-hop to get thru it. My issue is that not all of the sidewalks connect. For anyone else this is OK but for Baxter, who is 12, it will induce a coma like nap this afternoon. 😁 One more fantastic thing was that there is covered parking that has solar panels on it. It's situated closer to the Oval. It didn't say I could NOT park there so I did. Now that we've made this visit I can bring my dogs out here and...
Read moreCame in here last night for public skating the girl at counter was rude and acted put out when I payed. Wasn’t friendly at all. The facility is ok they are doing some kind of construction on the end of building. There are two rinks plus the oval track which is were they have you skate for public, which was extremely boring there was no music playing like other rinks it was quiet all you could hear is others around you in facility. They do have activities there you can participate in like speed skating classes, hockey , figure skating. However if you’re trying to find a couch for figure skating good luck I emailed them directly and only got one response back in two weeks. So the email they provided for these coaches which varies per individual is a bit to be desired since they don’t respond back and leave you hanging. Very disappointing I never had such a place that’s offered coaches for them not to respond back in some way. This is very frustrating and a turn off However if you’re just looking for somewhere to have some fun then try just bring some ear buds since they don’t play music. And hopefully if you go you can get better customer service than I did. Also make sure you bring your own drink because if you ask for a bottle of water or even a small bottle of Powerade it’s...
Read moreThe construction has died down on their upgrade so they have a nice drop off loop zone which is nice. Inside my boys did a 6 week session of learn to skate and liked it enough they want to go to the next level. I’m noticing the rental skates often have issues with the laces and are really short and hard for my kids to tie by themselves. Obviously it’s cold inside since it is an ice rink. There seems to be a little bit of an issue since there is a track around the ice many running clubs are using an they seem to be endlessly annoyed with excited parents that want to get a better view of the kids in class and seeing what they’ve learned but the stadium seating that is offered doesn’t allow this very well so parents cross the track to see and are scolded, and they aren’t really welcomed on the other side either- it’s one of my only frustrations and makes me wish the running Track wasn’t there, because it would be easier to enjoy the ice sports...idk of other solutions to this issue... Also the rental area can smell kinda stinky especially with sweaty hockey players around in their equipment, if anything can be done to make the fragrance a little more pleasant it would feel more comfortable...
