Very good fun for a Saturday morning. Get there early to avoid most of the heat. This location is different than it used to be, and my GPS took me past the best parking lot. It's east of the soccer fields. There are a few disabled parking spots, but they are actually farthest away from the bridge crossing. Not a problem for those on wheels, because everything is paved, but it's hard on those who have trouble walking! We walked rather slowly to the farthest stalls, sampling and scoping out the best deals, then worked our way back, buying the things we'd noted along the way. We bought four large grocery bags full and it took us a little over an hour. It would be more tempting to linger longer, if the weather weren't so hot. But, there are a few shady spots and even places to sit down and rest occasionally. What I loved: Locally grown produce (some of it was from East Texas, but I don't think any of it was shipped in from Chile). There were a variety of stalls, from produce, to meat, to baked goods, to handmade items and soaps. There were also a couple of food trucks, and a snow-cone place, and homemade fruity popsicles, and ice-cold fruit drinks. Lots of interesting dogs and cute kids! We were mostly interested in the produce, and you can see the beautiful things I found...
Read moreLove this Farmer’s Market Big selection and I love that you can eat breakfast, grab a coffee, and then shop. My favorite newest addition is the permanent jewelry stand DFW Permanent Jewelry by Confidence Collective. My all time favorite is the Bondi Bowls truck (pink); you can’t get fresh bowls (not watered down) this good anywhere else in the area. I’ve also shopped the fresh fruits & veggies, dog treats, and other miscellaneous items. I only wish there were restrooms on this side of the pond, but there are some at this location it’s just a bit of a walk across the bridge and by the sand...
Read moreWent for first visit to new Farmer Mkt on 6/23. The new venue is far larger and also more conveniently laid out. Unfortunately, there were only 3-5 vendors selling produce, with the majority peddling non-produce items like jerky, hot BBQ, beef quarters and halves, etc. As a family friendly activity, this newly relocated market is a solid hit. It's spacious, open, offers ample parking, and is well shaded. It also abuts multiple sports fields. As to its success as a farmers mkt, however, IMHO it has a long way to grow before it can be considered as a rival to...
