The food was great, but the cashier was very shady with his dealings. He charged me for a reward I was supposed to get free and tried to hide it by throwing the receipt in the trash without asking me if I wanted my receipt, which I very expeditiously asked him to retrieve. Sure enough he had charged me for the reward AND then scanned my reward barcode to cover. So not only did he charge me but he stole my reward. The manager, a young woman, came out to explain they couldn't refund a reward(which was not what I was trying to do...she could have refunded the price of the reward that he charged me on the ticket that my food item was on...not refund the reward because of course I'm aware that can't be done, but I wasn't about to explain to her how to do her job when she offered to give me not ONE but TWO free 20oz coupon cards. So naturally I accepted because why not, right?
But Smoothie King franchisees this is how come your stores give away so much of your product. Employees who try to cover their screw ups and managers who could return a smaller refund that what it'll cost your store in profit from 2 $8-10 smoothies over the $4 she could have quite easily refunded to my card. All of the employees at that store at that time need more training.
App and reward members, if your credit or debit card is stored in your account be sure to always ask for your receipt because this "small" "insignificant" screw up add up over time and it's actually the principle that matters, not the small amount of money, like I told the manager. It was her employee was trying to be sneaky. But I'm just much more aware than he thought. That's why he threw the receipt in the trash after looking at it and realizing what he did. Read moreRIDICULOUSLY POOR SERVICE FOR WALK-IN CUSTOMERS!!!!! Rather than wait in line in the drive-thru (there were 2-3 cars) I decided to walk in to peruse the menu at greater length and read the nutritional information prior to ordering. Initially, I was the only customer inside the store. After making it obvious I would like to order with attempted eye contact with the single employee who would even face my direction I proceeded to wait for service for greater than 10 minutes without being acknowledged or my order taken. While waiting at the cash register for service, another customer arrived and waited in line behind me for 5-6 minutes with his daughter. After seeing that the store employees had failed to provide even the most basic level of customer service along with no progress in order taking, these customers walked out in obvious frustration without placing an order. Five minutes later (total time waiting, ~15 minutes, again, without ever being acknowledged or spoken to by the store employees even after asking if I could place an order verbally and no verbal response provided) I, too, left the building without placing an order. It’s seriously refreshing to experience the younger generation display true customer service friendly conversation and a genuine joy to SERVE. :) Miranda, a young lady with an infectious laugh helped me through the drive-through. Miranda stood out to me as an exemplary employee. She’s an example for all service people and her especially to her generation. I hope that her managers recognize the beauty of her employment there at their Smoothie King establishment.
