I really wanted to continue being a customer at this shop, but their lack of empathy for a problem they created cannot be looked over. I got my sway bar links replaced at this shop and less than 2 weeks later, I began hearing a horrid sound any time I went over a pothole or simply turned in and out of an entrance. I needed my oxygen sensors replaced, so I decided to have them do that as well as check out the sound that I never had before. My mother took my car each time while I worked and this is the only reason I would have allowed the car to leave. They replaced the sensors on a Friday, (or so I hope since the engine light is still on and the mechanic said it couldnât be my converter) and told my mother and brother that they THINK itâs the sway bar and theyâll reorder the parts so donât pay and come back to get it fixed⌠When I got back to my car at 5pm that day after work, my car sounded WORSE than when it went in. I couldnât wait til Monday risking that sound or take off and miss work on that short of a notice due to their negligence. I had to take my car that Friday to the nearest shop I could find that was still open, where I was first asked if I had fresh work done on the link, then told they can tell because the sway bar link wasnât tightened all the way by the previous shop and that caused the loose bar to ram into my axle for that week or two I heard the sound. I had to get a new CV system that day and they tightened the link in less than five minutes. The guy literally reached his arm through the tire slot and wiggles the link around.. When I called FANS to tell them I wonât be returning and explained the issue, the woman hadnât a care in the world and stated âthatâs goodâ that the other shop was able to fix it⌠thatâs not good. When I said that something needed to be worked out due to me having to come out of pocket for unexpected new repairs, she stated âwe told you to come back on Monday and weâd order itâ & âsometimes they come looseâ⌠if had they simply took the 10 seconds it took for the other shop to see it was loose, I wouldnât have had to come back and they wouldnât have had to assume they need to order new parts again. She also talked about their bay being full when my car got there at 9 in the morning and didnât leave til close, there should have been more than enough time to check work they did not even two weeks ago to uphold the integrity of their company. They couldnât even find record at first of them doing the links and kept confusing my momâs truck and repairs with my car and repair. Instead of working with me for their mishap, she assumed I didnât want to pay for the work. I was quoted $1200+ in repairs from the other shop EXCLUDING the sway bar link they simply tightened. I should have been offered a discounted refund for all the trouble, not âthatâs good they could fix it.â I have gotten full diagnostics and inspections on my vehicle twice this year and have never had CV system issues, even before the initial link replacement. An unhelpful âwe told you to return Mondayâ when sending a car out on a Friday sounding worse than it came in, that you ALREADY did a service on, and believe to be the issue, is unacceptable! My motherâs truck also sat for almost two months, before they returned it just to say they didnât know what was wrong with it. Will absolutely not...
Read moreFrom the moment my clutch gave out on my WRX and it came to a stop right beside Fans Automotive I didnât quite know what to expect other than Iâm extremely thankful it was this shop. I was immediately greeted by the owner Mr. Kelley who was extremely kind and just a joy to talk to. He and a very kind officer helped to push my car into the shop after hours. There was another employee who also helped. Overall I was just impressed by how they made a bad situation comfortable. He allowed me to make the decision to leave my car there free of charge until I can have a tow truck take it to another mechanic shop or look into what they have to offer me. Quite obviously I chose to leave my car there and have Mr. Kelley and his staff work on it. Unbeknownst to me, they have done an exceptional job with the quality of work and concern to actually get my car fixed and back on the road. His wife was also quite helpful and very professional as well. Canât beat their prices with the quality of work they put into your car. Iâd highly recommend them to anyone needing any kind of transmission work or anything they provide. I called several shops in Killeen and none had prices more competitive than Fanâs Automotive. It was such a privilege to have this family oriented mechanic shop have...
Read moreI have to give a BIG 5 STAR shoutout to Roger (& Cass) for coming to my rescue this morning! While I was waiting in line at the new burger joint, Simply Good Burgers, in Cove last night, all of the sudden a BUNCH of steam started coming out from under my hood!!! No gauges were high, no warning lights were on, but I immediately turned my SUV off. I opened the hood so things could cool off. A nice gentleman, Terry, came over to assist. He discovered it was just a hose, THANK THE LORD! He recommended FANS. Said they had good prices and would treat me right. Terry said he would even text Roger to let him know I would be calling him. I called Roger right then, but they were already closed. So I called again in the morning. Roger & Cass came right out to where my truck was parked and were able to fix it in under an hour. It only took that long because they had to run to the automotive store and get some parts and antifreeze. Again, 5+ STARS to FANS Automotive! They have definitely earned my trust and business!! Thank yâall SO...
