My family started coming to Kiawah on vacation in 2020. I was delighted to attend drill clinics at the Roy Barth Tennis Center any time we were in town. I went to the adult tournament tough clinics yesterday and today and they were fun, fast-paced and a great way to start the day. Today, it was pretty hot and humid on the courts and I unfortunately got overheated and had to leave the drills an hour early which I hated to miss because the drills are always so much fun!!! Jonathan was quick to spring into action, got me a towel with ice for my neck, even drove me back to my rental house, where my family was packing up the car for our trip back home. This is truly way above and beyond the call of duty and I cannot thank him enough for the kindness and care he extended. I try to attend clinics every time we are in town and will definitely continue to do so in the future. There are many reasons why this is consistently ranked the number one tennis resort in the country. Its programs, personal interactions, and instruction offered for tennis enthusiasts from beginners to elite players make it a favorite for all. Thanks again Jonathan for all...
Read moreWe recently visited Kiawah Island Resort and our group pre-booked a court at the tennis center for one of the mornings during our stay. The morning of our reservation, we arrived a bit early, but checked in to se which court number we were. A young, blonde female working the desk did not greet us and seemed bothered that we came up to ask questions about our court booking. She passively told us our court number and that there were people on it, so we would have to wait, which we already knew would probably be the case. We brushed it off, but we’re slightly annoyed by the unfriendly encounter. The court facilities were great and the staff out on the courts were nice and friendly. We enjoyed our play so much that we went back to the center afterwards to book for the next morning. The same female manning the desk ‘helped’ us with making the reservation with the same bothered attitude and nonchalance. I would expect the staff at such a nice facility to be far more friendly and willing to provide their customers with a great experience. We will definitely be back to play on our next visit, but will certainly remember the...
Read moreThe Pickleball experience is disorganized and just awful. I showed up to play in a new league this morning to learn many of the courts were too wet for play. There were 28 people and three playable courts. And we have to pay to play!
There was a two hour play window and we were told some would have to wait an hour to play because of the court conditions. This should have been communicated at 7:00 AM this morning so people could make informed decisions about whether they wanted to pay to sit around and not get play.
There is no accountability or leadership, and it shows. With Pickleball being the fastest growing sport in the US, Kiawah is really...
