Ironclad Marketplace — Local services in Kinston

I was just in this place a few minutes ago and wanted to share my experience. The place itself is lovely and fun to shop around. I accidentally knocked a small item off of one of the shelves while shopping. It was a pure accident and I paid my $3 dollars for my accident. What I can’t get over is one of the vendors basically RUNNING at me to be nosy to see what I broke. I apologized and again did the right thing, picked up the item to take to pay for. A completely embarrassing scenario that any good person would probably feel awkward about. It makes it feel 10x worse when a grown 70+ year old woman is coming at you like you’re a child who’s done something wrong. I noticed the woman also walked to the front of the store to make sure that I was going to pay for my $3 mistake. I told the store clerk that I didn’t want the item that was broken and that I just wanted to do the right thing. The woman also proceeded to stop me at the door to make sure I paid for the $3 item, which again I did and had the audacity to ask me if I wanted the broken piece. I felt extremely harassed by this woman and like I shouldn’t be shopping this store based off of her actions alone. The store itself is beautiful but I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome after this incident. I hope the woman sees this and takes her actions into consideration the next time a small incident happens. All of this over a small $3 statue.

The only reason I am not leaving a 1 star review is because of the saint of the woman who was working the register. I told the clerk that when I broke the item there was a woman who came up to me just to see what I broke and followed me to the register to see if I was going to actually pay for the item. The clerk apologized profusely and was so kind and understanding. She stated that the woman that did so was a vendor and just tried to make me feel better about a bad situation. Which she did...

I love to shop and get a good deal, and his is the place! I shopped for Christmas presents and boy did I get some nice items! There are different sections, and each one has a different theme by a different owner. Like a co-op, vendors, etc. It gives me an idea of the prices I need to sell my things at a garage sale. Some vendors might seem a little high, then go to the next one. I think they might have at least 50 vendors? What you need is time to be able to see everything. I bought a bowl, thimbles of states, a nice platter, and glass containers I want to fill with goodies for Christmas and give away. Just lovely. I love this place! Thank you...
