I walked in, expecting the usual "meh" experience from fast food, but instead, I was greeted like a long-lost cousin at a family reunion. The team behind the counter? Absolute sandwich architects. They didn’t just make my sub; they engineered it with precision and love.

I ordered my usual—Italian BMT, extra toasted, loaded up like a packed suitcase. The bread was so fresh I swear it whispered sweet nothings to me. The meats? Stacked like they were competing in a bodybuilding contest. The veggies? So crisp and vibrant, I briefly considered switching to a salad (but let's be real, that was never happening).

I arrived at this subway at 5pm on Monday. I ordered a 12 inch salami sub on Italian herb and cheese bread. The spinach & cucumbers were at the very bottom of the bucket and were not appetizing looking. Wilted spinach, slimy frozen looking cucumbers. I asked for fresh. She replied they didn’t have anymore. I asked if she could slice up some cucumbers that I’d wait. She said she had none in the back. The pickles had some slimy white stuff on them so I asked her to pick around that. Needless to say, the vegetables did not look edible. I got back to my hotel to eat the sub with no veggies & found out the bread was hard and stale. Wow. This place needs some work, education & workers that care. I worked at a subway, so I know the standards and this place fell very short. Oh, I also asked for soup? They didn’t have any....

Subway is a general chain restaurant. Not bashing them, I have my favorites that I will intentionally google a subway near me to get my sandwich. So, you either have a normal experience, a bad experience or a remarkable one. The bad and remarkable depend on the employee. This particular Subway, I left happier than when I went in. The guy that made my sandwich and rung me up was awesome. I stood there and joked and laughed with him even after I got my food (there was nobody in line behind me so he was not neglecting his duties) like we’ve known each other forever.
