My second massage at Longevity was with Lora. I high hopes since she seemed highly sought after; I had to book the massage more than a month out. Before the massage began I casually doublechecked with her to make sure she had read my note about wanting hot stones and a deep tissue massage. She emphatically told me there was no note written and told me the stones weren’t heated up. I later checked with the lady at the front desk and she said there actually was a note about this and she didn’t know why Lora hadn’t read it. Lora was not slightly apologetic about her oversight.
I then told Lora my back was the main area I wanted massaged and that I would love to have the knots worked out. She spent 75 minutes of a 90 minute massage working on every area except my back. I saw the time when I went to the bathroom and that’s when I realized I had only 15 min left of this massage and she had not even begun working on my back.
In the beginning when I was talking to her about wanting a deep tissue massage I casually (almost jokingly) told her that if I was sore the next day I would be happy. She sharply told me this wasn’t good and that I shouldn’t be sore after a deep tissue massage. But then ironically she did the massage way too hard and I was in pain within an hour of the massage. Not just the normal soreness but actual pain. I’ve had about 15 deep tissue massages in my life but this was a first. During the massage I did let her know she was hurting me and she did not apologize. But at that point she did proceed to do the rest of the massage way too soft. The only time she asked if the pressure she was using was correct was in the last 5 minutes of the massage. That should have been clarified in the very beginning.
I also let Lora know as the massage was beginning that I was cold asked if the heated bed was heated up as much as it could be. She said yes and that it was brand new and proceeded to start the massage. I asked if I could be given an extra blanket and she was clearly very put out by this but reluctantly got one for me. She didn’t respond when I told her thank you. But what she did say was that I must love the 97 degree heat outside. I was cold the entire massage. I literally had goosebumps on my legs and I know she could feel how cold my hands and feet were but she never checked to make sure I was a good temperature.
After my massage with Lora I was asked at the front desk how my massage was. I said to be honest it was disappointing and I explained why. The owner, Mary, had me pay in full for this 90 minute massage but she said my next 90 minute massage would be complimentary. I had previously scheduled a 90 minute massage with Kay Kay more than 2 months in advance because that’s how far out she was booked. Without asking if I was ok with this- Mary reschedule my massage to be with Ellie instead of Kay Kay. I scheduled the massage with Kay Kay intentionally because Kay Kay is specialized in deep tissue and hot stone massage which is exactly what I had requested for each of my massages. Ellie on the other hand- according to the website doesn’t specialize in either of these.
Mary was polite enough but didn’t apologize for the bad experience I had with Lora. She did let me know she would talk with Lora about it though, which I did appreciate.
Also, when I was there the facilities needed a bit of work- with a some ceiling tiles missing and the lock broken on the locker room area where they tell you to change. I walked in on a woman changing because I didn’t know anyone was in there and she apologized and said the lock didn’t work. Men and women use the same locker room and showers- not at the same time- but the lock is definitely needed.

Read moreInitially I had a great experience at the Bearden location. Was highly recommended by a friend of mine, specially Emily Hamilton (a true godsend, talented and very caring). I did get a first time visit discount and was so happy that added more services to my visit and ended up spending the triple (aprox $140). This was 10 days ago. Missed a good discount due to my own error (e-mail ended up in my spam folder) so I could understand why they couldn't make an exception for me after a few days. Then I called yesterday (Monday) and booked a 1 hr session with Emily for today (Tuesday). Received an e-mail 'today' with another good discount. When I called, Rebecca tells me she can't honor it because it was booked a day before...I asked if an exception could be made, was told 'no'. Attended my appointment anyways, just because of Emily, I asked again if that could be reconsidered, I was told "no" by the front desk lady on behalf of the owner. I wasn't asking for free service, just a little break so I could add more services again. I have been working on customer service for 17 years and I know that exceptions can be made to keep customers happy and coming back. I'm happy with Emily to say the least, but I'm extremely dissapointed with this experience. When I told the front desk lady that I could change my review, she just said "ok". They said they are sorry, not as...
Read moreI rarely give an establishment five stars, but Longevity Massage earned them. From the friendly greeting upon arrival to my departure, I recieved quality, top-notch services. The salon itself is beautifully decorated and even more relaxing. I recieved a 90 minute massage from Connor, and it was amazing. He used just enough pressure to address my complaints and never used pressure heavy enough to cause me any pain. Connor was respectful of my privacy, never leaving me exposed, as some massage therapist have done before (NOT at Longevity). He was professional and, as a first time client of his, I felt uncomfortable with him, which isn't always the case.
The pain in my upper back and shoulders greatly subsided before I even left the spa. I have chronic back pain and getting relief can be difficult at times, but Connor was able to relase quite a bit of muscle strain and soreness that was quickly getting worse.
I will be recommending Connor to other potential clients. I know I will definitely book more appointments at Longevity with...
