Yum! We have tried Penne for Your Thoughts a couple years ago at the food truck and really liked it but it wasn't near us again on a night we could go. So it's exciting they are now at a permanent location so we can go any time!
The menu is much bigger than when it was just a food truck when we last went.
The staff was super polite and nice and our food was prompt.
My husband got the "Undercover Spice" pasta and loved it. I liked it too but I loved mine the most.
I got the "Can't Steak My Eyes Off of You" and man. SO GOOD! I am not a huge fan of balsamic vinegar but I wanted to try it the way they fixed it so I did and it was delicious still. I might not get the balsamic on a future trip but we'll see.
My girls (6&8) split a kids Mac & cheese and we still had leftovers. It's basically the same size as an adult portion but just macaroni and cheese. They liked it but got too full to finish so we took it home for leftovers.
Excited for the brick and mortar location and we expect to be back! Fun, memorable names for each dish and super nice staff. Very clean inside. (Didn't visit the restroom so I can't comment on that but it was very bright...
Read morePenne for your thoughts food truck is a 2 time award winning truck here in knoxville. But thats the line that will make you try their award winning food, but what will make you come back time and time again is the people and their food! Yes, the menu is american italian fusion, yes each menu item is a play on words... a pun if you will. The staff is kind and friendly, your order is made fresh with a shorter than normal wait than most food trucks I have eaten at. Yes every order is made fresh, but I am compelled to write a review, I am not one to write many reviews, but MY experience ordering and eating from Penne for your Thoughts was so outstanding I needed to share my thoughts. From the "mind grinder" to the "chicky chicky parm parm" to the "when time fries" were the best tasting food I have ever eaten from a food truck, let alone many restaurants! Yes restaurant quality food out of a truck. This is a must have...
Read moreMy mother-in-law and I decided to try this place out for lunch. She ordered the pesto pasta and I ordered the Sweet Dreams are made of Brie sandwich (with no Brie considering my dairy allergies). The woman taking my order was nice and friendly. When I asked her what was in the pasta salad, she stated the ingredients but forgot to mention there were tomatoes in it (I also have a tomato allergy). I took our food home and when we went to dig in, my sandwich had come with cheese. I picked off the cheese, which unfortunately took the basil with it, and was left with a hefty amount of fig and balsamic jam and a small amount of salami. The sandwich was mostly bread. I only took a few bites of the pasta salad, trying to avoid the tomatoes before giving up. It wasn’t a terrible experience but with paying $40, I expected more food...
