Weird, hostile energy from the staff. I walked in and was looked dead in the eye by the employee who was on deck, who was silent, and offered no "welcome" or "hi." A middle aged man (who maybe looked richer or more mature than me) followed in right after me, and he got a loud, hearty "Welcome!" from the same employee who ignored me. After I had an armful of things to buy, another employee finally greeted me. The one who ignored me first checked out my stuff and gave me no "thank you." I'm half of those ladies' age now, and even when I was working as a sales associate, a decade ago, I was taught to treat customers with manners and respect. If you have a hang up about any type of person, as long as they're a respectful customer, maybe don't work in a gift store. I might be back because the selection of gifts is really nice, and I don't take other people's attitudes personally. But I'll probably just drive another hour out to a different Hallmark to avoid the icky energy from these ladies who are supposed to be welcoming...

Two associates were sitting on the floor in the store near the clothing. The tiny short one had the audacity to say, "here she comes trying to get me out of the way" as I looked at the clothing. I'm the shopper trying to look at clothing! Sitting on the floor in the store is not where associates should take their break. Then when she asked if the clothes I tried on worked out I told her I'm going to think about it, she muttered, "all that for nothing" and chuckled while walking away. To boot, the associates sitting on the floor were talking about a customer that came in several times in one week that they had to help. So unprofessional and appalling. I won't be coming back in this store. Management needs to train these...

I’ve been coming to this store for over 20 years, I will never shop here again! Not much selection, low inventory, and the worst thing was the owner’s attitude. Young workers were nice, but just because I expressed disappointed in their lack of selection, the owner became mean towards me. The previous owner was ALWAYS very helpful and kept a great stock of merchandise. Seems like another case of a great business taken over by an individual who has no sense of customer SERVICE. I felt like I was shopping in a 3rd world country, actually I think I probably would have received better service even in that case.
