Our new favorite cheese shop!! Amazing variety of cheeses as well as gifts to select. I spoke with the friendly and very knowledgeable owner who indicated she is expecting a shipment of vegan cheeses very soon. I will update my review once they had been confirmed. Besides the charming 1922 house, they have easily the best variety of cheeses we have found throughout our travels in America. I could go on and on about this wonderful shop as well as the special front and rear patios and special events here. This is a "must see" for yourself! Lovely little cheese shop in La Mesa. We went on a Friday for lunch and sat in their cute back patio. We had the place to ourselves until around noon when another party arrived. I hope they'll get more people.

We ordered the picnic plate which was my favorite. We also ordered the cheddar plate, meat plate, and Bleu cheese plate. Evening was really good. I will ask for more crackers next time. We ordered everything online using their QR code.

Can’t hardly wait to dig into all the special treats I picked up! Caitlin was fabulous and so knowledgeable helping me taste and select goodies. I’ve been fortunate living in towns with great cheese shops so I’ve been super excited to try out Bougies. Finally had the opportunity today and it was great since it was a slower day so I had lots of time to learn from Caitlin. I love that everything seems so beautifully curated and hand selected.
