Al's Supermarket — Local services in La Porte

For the love of mankind hire people who actually have some sort of social skill or at least a drive to work, at the deli. You have a total of 6 people back here just walking around with their belly hanging OUT their shirt (which by no means am I judging their size, but for how much prices are you'd think this store could purchase larger uniforms for their employees), the same dude is always wiping his snot from his wrist to his elbow, two younger kids just aimless walking around or just walking past the clearly empty, since 6 hours ago, cold salad containers behind the glass. I have some sort of mystery meat mixed into my kids' all beef bologna due to the absolute lack of even wiping the slicer down with a paper towel. Heck, I would've bought them the ol' quicker picker uppers while I stood there waiting for 30 minutes to get the damn bologna. This isn't the first time that I've witnessed it and yet, I stupidly decided to came back and tried the store again (especially due to the lack of boars head deli meats anywhere else around here). Never again. This was possibly worse than the last time. I'm disgusted and will 5/5 not come back again. I hate to leave the negative, but nothing has changed, even after the cashiers and front manager saying they know about the issues back there and other numerous complaints for the...

I love this small but gigantic store!! They usually have things I'm looking for that those other guys do not. It seems as if they carry more items, just not as many of a single item, more unique, hard to find, yet simple items & more variety of these items. They often have sales on their Pepsi/Coke, better produce and have one of the best meat selection/quality in town!

Although I can not give them a 5 star rating because this past year, every single time I buy a product from their bakery...whether in the fridge/freezer section, bread or homemade danishes/cakes/donuts... It's STALE & hard as a rock!! That department has gone WAY DOWNHILL and they definitely need to do something about it and fast!! I just no longer shop in that area of the store. They are also WAY TOO PICKY about returning items & do less so, compared to others.

The staff are energetic, friendly and ALWAYS right around the corner from you and so willing to help!!! You can NEVER find anyone to help you anywhere else! Everything else is absolutely fantastic here!!...

Dawna prepared our wedding flowers and they were AMAZING. She was so thoughtful and well prepared. I sent her many pictures of what I would want and she exceeded my expectations! She did all of the bridal bouquets and grooms boutonnieres. She also did the flowers on our wedding cake as well as greenery on the tables. Her team came and set everything up for me so I did not need to stress on my wedding day. It was so beautiful! I would 100% recommend Dawna for your wedding flowers!

Tonya baked our wedding cake and cupcakes and they were delicious! we chose four flavors for cupcakes and one for our two tier wedding cake. We wanted simple and white frosting and it turned out perfect! The frosting of both had sparkles in it as well that made it even cuter than I could have imagined! She came to deliver the cake and set up the flowers on it as well! All of the flavors were delicious! She also lets you do a take-home tasting that was so fun as well and...
